  • Excellent Mini PC!
Size: UM890 Pro-32/1TB
Excellent computer! I am very satisfied with my purchase. It runs fast, stays cool even under load, and is very quiet. The performance is great, and everything works smoothly. Highly recommended!

  • Great machine and support
Size: UM890 Pro-32/1TB
I purchases the UM890 11 months ago when I ran into a problem. I contacted Minisforum support and worked with them to diagnose the problem. They responded to all of my emails within a day. It turned out to be a problem with RAM slot 1 and they gave me a return authorization. I sent my UM890 to their warehouse in California as directed. 3 days later they sent me a replacement computer and everything seems great. So great experience with their customer support and within 2 weeks, my faulty computer was replaced under warranty. I was only out the shipping to CA. As for the UM890 itself, I love the machine. Very compact and powerful. Nice array of ports to use for its small size. Its made a believer out of me in PC mini format. The only knock thus far is the RAM slot failure after 11 months. Hopefully the replacement will prove to be more reliable. My friend winded up ordering the same model based on my experience. ... show more

  • NO OCULINK
Size: UM890 Pro-32/1TB
This PC is the best of all the AMD mini PCs, CPU-wise. But I went to go plug in my Oculink cable and there's just a HOLE. Opened up the box and confirmed, there is just no port on the motherboard. There's a hole for it in the case but it goes to nothing. False advertising!!!

  • A rollecoaster ride, but with a happy end
Size: UM890 Pro-32/1TB
I've bought first of the two PC of that particular model, mainly for work and an occasional gaming. Unfortunately, the first one started behaving weirdly in about 40–50 days after the purchase, giving me random BSOD, freezing, crashing whatever I was currently working on, so I got in contact with Minisforum customer service to tell them about the issues I was having all of a sudden. And here's where I was absolutely amazed of how flawlessly they've handled the situation. After almost 30 emails, between us, responses were between half an hour to maybe couple of hours on a working day, and early morning on Mondays after the weekend. Anyway, long story short, I was offered to buy a second one and when I receive it, to test it and transfer my data from the faulty one to the second one and send back the faulty one, just so I don't have any downtime from work. I was refunded on 100% for the price of the second one I had to buy, and now I get to enjoy that power house crammed in a box smaller than a Wi-Fi router. It's amazing how capable that little beast is, the specs tell the whole story. It breezes through running quite a bit more than a dozen browser tabs without breaking a drop of sweat. Not only that, but it stays absolutely silent running 60+ track music projects in Ableton jam packed with VST's. It handles light to medium gaming without any complaints...all that on 3 monitor setup. I just can't be bother building another tower PC at that point, as long as Mini PC's like this one could do as much as an ATX size tower, but in much smaller footprint and price, in my use case. Very well done, Minisforum! ... show more

  • OcuLink is an M.2 adapter card, not native
Size: UM890 Pro-32/1TB
** Upgraded my review to 4 stars, since Minisforum updated their product description describing the OcuLink situation (only here on Amazon as far as I can tell). To fix Bluetooth issues, Minisforum sent a replacement wireless card (Mediatek WXT2EV2103A vs the included Intel Killer AX1675x), which I appreciate. I did a card swap, keeping the original antennas, and the Bluetooth reception still sucked. I replaced the Main (black) antenna with the one included with the Mediatek card, and my reception was instantly better, despite the replacement antenna being beat up from getting shipped in a couple of envelopes... swapping main antenna back and forth and using the original Killer card indicates that the original antenna was bad. Thanks Minisforum for the support. I am still using this device every day, along with the Minisforum DEG1 housing an AMD 7900GRE. Playing games at 3440x1440p above 60fps (and mostly above 100fps), it powers through my DAW no matter how much garbage music I'm trying to make... it's a great machine. Minisforum emailed offering a coupon (or a return). I won't take them up on either, but I appreciate the contact. The OcuLink port is not built-in. It's an M.2 adapter card, meaning you can only use one M.2 slot for storage if you also want OcuLink. Doesn't even include a retention screw. Doesn't show that in the images or description on this Amazon page or the Minisforum website product page. Aoostar specifically advertises that their OcuLink port does not eat an M.2 slot; my mistake, should've ordered a GEM12 instead of this thing. The Bluetooth reception is trash. My gamepad will regularly stop responding, so I tested with a Logitech MX Anywhere 3s and it has the same behavior. Didn't have any issues with a GPD WinMax 2 in the same location and conditions. Build quality is great. Solid metal, magnetic top panel so easy access, although you're immediately after presented with four screws covered in Loctite to access the M.2 slots and memory. The selection of ports is dynamite, aside from the OcuLink issue. Two 40GB USB4 ports, lots of USB-A 3.2. Proprietary power supply but it's 120W, and you CAN power this thing with USB PD. I'm only using one Ethernet port but I can pull the full 2.5GBs. ... show more

  • Highly recommend
Size: UM890 Pro-32/1TB
I have this set up with a 32 gig ram oculink to AMD 9060 XT on HP Omen monitor with 144 HZ. The setup runs everything I have thrown at it at NO LESS than 80 FPS from what I've noticed on the games I usually play. I am nowadays more of a casual gamer I no longer require to have all the bells and whistles running at full speed ultramax settings. My bar is for my games to run fluid with at least medium or the highest settings out of the box, I'm not trying to spend more time in the settings. Configure in the it not supposed to actually playing and enjoying it. That's my approach. So when it comes to features like front generation prediction RT and that stuff to me is not super necessary. Having said that, damn, it's nice to be able to actually use those features and still be able to maintain that level of performance in my current setup allows me to do it. Therefore, I highly recommend this setup/box. As far as the integrated graphics, I only tried it for maybe a couple of hours and from what I was able to tell it ran almost at the same level of performance but at 1080P and it took a bigger hit when I enabled RT or the more advanced features in games Which still is very surprising from a tiny little box, but due to mostly overheating concerns, I decided to just go with an external GPU. Don't let the size of this box how tiny it is throw you off. ... show more

Great little powerful device. Building out my homelab using Proxmox, and this is the first node in an intended three-node cluster. As purchased it will allow me to get started, while having the ability to expand and be a potent Proxmox host.
