Small wood splitting wedge ...
Even though the blade is pretty blunt, when a piece of cord wood it hammered onto it, it safely and accurately splits where you intend to make the cut — even though you’re holding the piece while striking it. Unlike where and how an axe might randomly, and sometimes unsafely, strike the wood. The wedge is not large enough to handle a whole round, and the wedge falls away with the splits, and needs to be positioned each time.

A Smart Tool for Lightweight Camping Trips
This little splitting wedge turned out to be the perfect addition to my motorcycle camping kit. Paired with a small hand axe, it gave me all the leverage I needed to split small logs and larger branches—tasks that would have been much harder (and rougher on my gear) if I had tried to baton with just my knife or swing the axe alone. The wedge isn’t magical, of course, but it’s surprisingly effective for processing firewood when traveling light. It bites into the wood cleanly, helps guide the split, and saves a lot of effort compared to relying on a knife or undersized axe. While it’s not the absolute lightest tool to carry, the trade-off in durability and performance makes it worthwhile for camping trips where you know you’ll need to split wood. For motorcycle camping, backpacking with a little extra weight allowance, or just tossing in your outdoor kit, this wedge is a compact, reliable tool that earns its place.

Does the trick
When I first saw this I didn't think it would work well. However, when used with the appropriate size log this thing works great. It was easy to split wood that was maybe 6in wide and not too long (Also dry enough). It is a bit safer than using a hatchet or axe and for the cost, weight, and size it's worth considering because of the extra safety it provides.

Compact, Effective, and Perfect for Camping Kits
I picked this up for my camping gear and gave it a test run in my backyard on some seasoned white oak—and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked! For such a small and lightweight tool, it really packs a punch. It’s easy to use: just set the wood on top, give it a solid hit with a hammer, and it splits cleanly into kindling. Definitely safer and more beginner-friendly than swinging an axe, especially when you’re in a more casual camp setup. The design is clever and compact—small enough to toss in a backpack or keep tucked in with my camping essentials without adding bulk or weight. Super helpful tool
This little thing really helped me save some time and energy. It’s a great price and value and super functional. It has a nice glossy black finish and comes with a little blade proctor and case to keep things safe and organized. I used a regular hammer and some pretty dry firewood (apx 4-6 inches wide) and easily split pieces into smaller kindling. Definitely recommend for camping and also very useful to have at home if you do any kind of burning with wood. It helped me get a great fire going in no time at all.
