    • Almost (but not quite) as immersive as Google Cardboard, amazing portability (pocketable), high quality construction
I own several Google Cardboard viewers. My Homido Mini just arrived and I am pleasantly surprised at just how much of the immersion of the Google Cardboard experience this device preserves. Although this device does not include a push button, touching the screen while I keep holding the device to my eyes works fine, and was not very disruptive to the experience. I think that a big part of preserving the immersiveness is that the optical paths are tight enough so that, with my Nexus 6, if I hold the viewer normally, I can't look past the edges of my cell phone screen, at least if I'm looking through the lenses. However, if I look far enough to the side, I can see along a path from my eye that does not go through the lens, although I can hold my hands in a manner that avoids most of that. I am thinking about wrapping the eyepiece rim with electrical tape to make a shroud from the lenses toward my eyes to reduce that optical path even more. I have not tried this device in a social setting yet (since mine just arrived), but I suspect that it is probably less isolating than a regular Google Cardboard viewer, because your friends should be able to get a glimpse from the side to get an idea of what you are viewing. I recommend this product as a second Google Cardboard reader, one that you can carry around to fulfill your civic duty to introduce everyone who crosses your path to Google Cardboard. I look forward to carrying this in my work bag, the glove compartment of my card, or a pocket. However, even though I give this product five stars, I also want to recommend that every Google Cardboard fan should also have a more conventional Google Cardboard viewer (that is, with the shroud that covers your eyes and ideally with an over-the-head headband to improve enjoyment of the longer viewing experiences, such as that tour of the planets application). Although the price that this device pays for portability is less than I expected, I am sure I will still prefer to use a conventional Google Cardboard viewer when I am at home. ... show more

    • Convenient and functional with some drawbacks
My first impression upon looking through this viewer was that the lenses had too much magnification. The pixels on my Galaxy S4 phone display were clearly visible. Some distortion and color aberration was noticeable on the edges of the picture. This is to be expected, though, with inexpensive lenses. However, being foldable and compact, it's a very convenient way to quickly have the 3D experience. I also have the VR fold viewer. While it shares the same lens limitations of the Homido viewer, it has one very desirable feature: variable lens spacing. That allows you to vary the near/far placement of the subject in virtual space. It also has height and width adjustments which I found useful. And it is very inexpensive. ... show more

    • Useless for the average adult
The distance between the lenses are NOT adjustable. The fixed distance would probably be fine for a child, but not for most adults as the distance between right and left lenses is too small for an average adult, and it makes stereo viewing impossible. Also the image is only sharp if your pupils are over the exact center of the lens. Also the Google Cardboard app, that the included instructions give you a QR code to download, doesn't allow you to view any images stored on your phone, with no help how to do so. You have to search for a viewing app that works with SBS (Side By Side) images - but even after finding the best available app you still have the distance between lenses issue. Excellent product. Works exactly how I figured and I am 46yrs old and fits my eyes perfectly. Its attached to my phone now as I am typing as it folds down then when u watch a vr video u just pull one of the sides and opens out for viewing.

    • Excellent pocket VR glasses
I bought these after purchasing a similar but slightly less expensive product. By comparison these glasses have more rounded plastic that contacts your nose, making them more comfortable. The clip is larger, wider and holds the glasses more firmly to your phone, reducing the tendency of the lenses to rotate out of focus. The focus is slightly better on these for my eyes as well. After more than a month of use, I have noticed that the arms which rotate the lenses have gotten slightly looser over time. Additionally, like other products of the type, you have to be careful to avoid scratching the unprotected lenses when you toss them in your pocket. No pouch shopped with these. So I want to say this was a genius idea, the most compact and travel friendly way yet to enjoy VR. It works better than I thought it would for the most part, you don’t really see the area beyond your phone just the screens. There is only one major problem with it, without a way to anchor the headset to your face, the lag in signals from your brain to the hand you’re holding everything with causes everything to be jittery and jumpy. I think this is a great concept and with a few tweaks could be a game changer for portable VR, it’s just not quite there yet. ... show more

    • Works with a Tablet!!
These work well, AND they will work with a tablet computer, if you happen to have one of those. The only device I own that is VR capable is an 8 inch Nvidia Shield tablet. I really wanted to experience VR, but most of the other viewers go up to 6 inches. The Homido Mini works with my tablet. I do find that because my screen is really big and the clip attaches to one side, sometimes the image is a little bigger than the area I can easily view, and if I am using it in a brightly lit area, I may see a bit of reflection on the screen, but overall, I am really happy with it. The fact that the Homido Mini folds for easy transport and storage, is just so much the better. ... show more

Don't buy these are so difficult to use you need to hold the phone in the perfect position just to see the images let alone to try and get an optimum experience, they make hand free equipment for this exact reason another thing having no focal adjustments mean the images that you can see if you lucky will be blurry. Nice try though ... show more
