I was hoping to not be able to tell the difference between this and another very common aggressive adhesive tape. Although the adhesive wasn't as aggressive, it's still fairly close to the one named after a specific primate. I would say that it's a very solid alpha male Orangutan tape. So far, it'll hold a temporary fiber drop in the crack of a driveway, and that's what I needed it to do. Sure, it doesn't double as a Brazilian wax hair remover like that other stuff, but I have an electric trimmer for that kind of stuff, so it's no sweat. Thanks 3M, it's the good good ... show more

This tape has come in handy for a number of projects. Duct tape is good for so many things. I was looking for a black tape and this was a great find (for me, items wrapped in gray duct tape are hideous and this black tape blends well into the environment). The tape is sticky enough to hold well on a variety of surfaces, but does not leave behind a residue when removed. I needed some duct tape to seal the gaps when installing the window air conditioners. Assumed a reputable company like 3M would be a safe bet. Wrong. The tape was fairly thin and the adhesive weak. Ended up buying a less expensive tape that turned out to be better quality. Thinking about using the 3M tape to reinforce my granddauter's diapers which keep coming undone. ... show more

I was happily surprised to find that this inexpensive tape was top quality. The tape is thick and easy to handle, which is often not true of cheap products. It's tough as hell but easy to tear a piece off without need for scissors. The adhesive is strong and the tape doesn't stretch out of shape. I have bought so many brands of duct tape that were thin, stretchy, or impossible to tear pieces off--and sometimes sticky with adhesive residue on the back-- this was a real pleasure to work with.
