Before gifting I took it out and tried it because I didn’t want disappointment on Christmas morning. It runs clunky, but that is as expected. The stitches aren’t bad. My 6 year old in one day decided she wanted to learn to sew, crochet, and knit. I did not know how to knit. I told her she had to learn to sew by hand first. So we did that. She then said, now let use your sewing machine. I decided to buy her own. Choosing this machine was the best decision. It has a safety guard to protect her tiny fingers. It was easy for her to string, it is compact and comes with ALL you need to get going, needle, material, scissors, the works. It can be battery or electric operated. It’s overall amazing. It can be operated on the floor, the table, by a child or even an adult. I cannot say enough of this product. I would recommend it to others in a heartbeat.

Cute as it can be- comes with lots of accessories- (but no project book as stated). I sew quite a bit, and found it was VERY laborious to thread this; you had to poke the thread THROUGH lots of hooks (approximately 8); once threaded, it would sew maybe 2 inches, then the thread would break. So you'd have to re-thread the machine. I tried new thread/ new bobbins/ everything I could think of. I had bought 2 machines (one for each grandchild) - and both did it. After almost an hour of continuous thread breaking, (and the kids stating sewing was NO fun!!) I packed it up and returned both of them. We then finished projects I found online (since no booklet was forthcoming even though I emailed) on MY Singer machine, and they were thrilled.

Got this for 6 year old granddaughters birthday. She loves the sewing kit inside and the many fabric pieces. She has made a pillow for her doll bed and is working on patchwork quilt now. Works well. I keep at my house and get out for her when she visits. Might not be durable of child was left in charge of it.

I love this compact easy to use sewing machine. I've used sewing machines decades ago and wanted something easy and simple to use. My elementary aged child has also developed a keen interest in sewing. With my supervision, they were able to use this machine! I love the safety guard on the needle perfect for preventing any accidentaly sticking of mine and their fingers. Super easy to set up with easy to follow instructions and super easy to use. Also takes up little to no space. I've used to make doll blankets and kids size placemats so far and love it. It also comes with a sewing kit and fabrics making it the perfect buy!

UPDATE: The seller not only gave me a refund but just sent a very sweet and sincere apology email for me not being able to use this product . This customer service is amazing so don’t let my disabilities sway you from purchasing this item. (END of UPDATE) Let me start by saying I have some disabilities that keep me from doing some “normal” life things. With that said I will not be able to use this machine as it has so many small parts to just do a needle change I was unable to change or put back parts trying to change a needle. I guess I am older when I use to sew I threaded a needle and boom was sewing. I could not even turn the screw at first to remove the needle. I love the size, and came with a lot but this for me is not at all user friendly for those with disabilities especially if you have any hand difficulties. I had to put this on easy pay which sux because I can’t use this now but still have to pay. I really wanted to make some memorial stuff for my daughter that passed but now sadly I can’t. If you have great eyes and hands this might be for you. Too many small parts to change a simple needle.
