If you’re just looking for a tl;dr version, this is a cute little DVD (NOT bluray) player that does exactly what one would expect from a DVD player, but with plenty of quality of life upgrades to make it suitable for sale in 2023. For a little more detail, however… Size/Form For something sold as a mini DVD player, it certainly fits the bill. I was actually surprised by how small the packaging is, and even more surprised by the unit itself. If I do have a complaint, however, it’s that you load discs into it by popping open the top. In my opinion, that negates a perk of its small size, since you won’t be able to tuck it into a little nook like you could if it was a front loading unit. As a result, this unit will have to sit on top of your entertainment system for access to the disc tray. Playback It obviously plays DVDs. In my tests, I ran into no issues with the playback. I only used the HDMI output (cable included), which, unfortunately does not natively upscale the native 480p of the DVD. Practically every TV would have this feature built in, of course, but just be aware that you might have to manually enable that through the TV menu – my TV didn’t do so automatically. I did not test the AV cable (also included) output, but I assume that would function the same, since the HDMI doesn’t provide any benefit in terms of output quality. It also plays music CDs and data CDs without issue. What makes this one stand out from competition is that it also supports USB and TF card storage if you have your movies ripped. That does help negate some of the disadvantages of it being a top loading unit! Power The unit comes with a power brick and usb-C cable. I tried running it off of the included brick, my Samsung cell phone charger, a USB 3.1 port on my laptop, and a USB 2.0 port built into my TV and it powered up and functioned from all 4 sources. The last source is the most handy, since you won’t need to take up another wall outlet to power this if your TV has a built in USB port! Functionality While every button you’d need for standard playback is built into the side of the unit itself, the remote (2 AAA batteries NOT included) has an overwhelming amount of buttons for various functions and features! I imagine most of them are unnecessary, but they’re handy features to have nonetheless! Most handy, though, is that the remote allows you to navigate the system menu to tweak a bunch of system settings, which will help customize the device to your TV settings. Overall, I’m quite pleased with this little DVD player! I was looking for something with a small form factor that I can leave plugged into and power directly from the projector in my classroom, and this is perfect for that! If you have younger kids or elderly parents who don’t need the visual upgrade that a bluray player would provide, this little DVD player gives you a big bang for your buck! If I could give half stars, I think I’d give this a 4.5 only because it doesn’t natively output an upscaled picture, but that’s not enough to round it down a 4 star. And, again, I suspect the target audience for this device isn’t going to care about the picture quality!

I was looking for a basic DVD player to hook up to the TV in my kitchen (between cooking and other work, I’m in my kitchen for several hours a day, and there’s not always something on streaming video that I want to watch. All of the needed cables are provided. I initially used the RGB jacks and external speakers, but after a few days, I bought an HDMI splitter to switch between it and an Amazon Fire Stick to reduce the clutter on my countertop. Unfortunately, the player doesn’t have Bluetooth, so the audio has to go through the TV. But hey, for this price you can’t expect everything. The picture output is great and the remote is easy to use. I especially appreciate that you can power the player from a TV that has a USB port rather than plugging it in with yet another brick.

This was my 2nd video player. The 1st one was not compatible with my TV. This one has both sets of connections, so you can pick which one you need for hook-up. Works great, very compact. Doesn't seem to be made real strong, but it serves its purpose

Failed at first try. Wouldn't eve play an entire DVD, stopped, locked up, blank screen, flicked between video and color screen. Returned for refund. You get what you pay for.

This product offers a very compact design and is easy to use. It reads all standard DVD's but not Blu-Ray disks. While there are functional buttons located on the side panel, the remote control also handles all disk utilities and provides easy screen/menu navigation. This is not a disk recorder/burner. The package includes a power cord with an AC adapter, but it can also be plugged into any powered standard USB port (my router has two such ports). An HDMI cable is also included for connection to the TV. The unit also features an auxiliary jack for a a headphone along with USB memory card and SD media input card ports. The resulting video picture is clear, wide-screen 1080 quality.
