Me and my 4 year old put together one of the configurations and she had a lot of fun. Obviously the flying is not for a toddler, but she did enjoy trying. It didn't break when she crashed it a few times. So that's nice a bonus :) Can't wait to try the other builds!

    • fun, but motors fail quickly

My son loves this. It flies well and the ability to build lots of different designs is fun. However, one of the motors died after two flights. The rest followed one at a time every couple flights. Luckily, 8520 motors are inexpensive and easy to find here on amazon or elsewhere. The replacement motors have been working fine so far, but the originals are super low quality. I recommend this product only if you are willing to spend another $10-20 on an extra set of motors. Search amazon for 3.7volt, 8520 15000KV motors if you are looking for replacements ... show more

So this Drone is recommended for 14 years and up. My 8 year old is really into building things and does the older kids Lego kits so I figured this would perfect for him. He was able to easily assemble the Drone he wanted although it comes with the blue one already put together. It has a hand held remote and no camera. He was having a little trouble landing it. He's had one other Drone before but he had a hard time flying it. The other reason I got hum this particular Drone is because it said if you wreck it you can easily put it back together instead of it breaking. He did kiss a couple of trees learning to maneuver it and it didn't come apart on contact but the propellers did. Other than thay it seems to be great. He can change the shape and color of the Drone as he wants and I don't have to worry about it breaking every time he bumps into something. ... show more

This set comes with five different colored build options that can be mixed and matched after flight testing them. Theses inter-changeable drones are well made and are great for learning to fly drones. The controls take a little getting used to for kids but with a little practice, they pick it up quickly.
