Admittedly, this saw is inexpensive and isn't designed for what I was using it for, which was to cut shallow roots from my oak tree. It's not a full gas powered McCullough, but it survived my abuses without too much complaint. Oak is a hard wood, and I ended up sticking the snout of this thing down in the dirt and wood and it just kept chewing up whatever was in the way. If I pushed on it too hard I could strain the battery and even stop the chain, but it's small and maneuverable, which is what I needed. I didn’t even drain the battery by the end of the day, which surprised me. Still, I wish it had a bit more power – it got bogged down by large roots to the point I finally set it aside and attacked the roots with a 4lb ax. But if you need to cut smaller things then this saw will probably work for you. ... show more

    • Handy but not well designed for 6" blade
Handy for branches larger than my loppers can do. The blade guard is good for the 4" blade. Unfortunately, with the 6" the end of the guard rests on the blade so the blade is slowly chewing it away. It is about half an inch shorter than it used to be after 15 min of work. I suspect that will stop soon as the guard is almost at its lowest resting position. The case it comes in is handy IF you have the 4" blade on, but it does not fit in with a 6" blade. And I found it too cumbersome to take the blade off for storage so the case is not useful for me. The biggest I cut was 2.75". I think with practice coming in from multiple angles I could cut a larger branch. For now I'll stick to that size or smaller for safety. If you think you will use the 6" much, you may want to look ones made to be 6". All that said, I am happy I bought it. I am able to get some branches I could not get before without having to call a friend with a big gas chainsaw. It's worth it for the low price. ... show more

    • An Excellent Light Powered Tool
I bought this chain saw for light pruning of ornamental bushes on my property. It is very well suited for this job. I have also used it for slightly larger tasks of cutting branches into smaller pieces for hauling for disposal. It does a good job on branches of up 2-3 in diameters. At the upper end it is straining and slow. I wouldn't recommend exceeding this size. For the jobs it does, it is very well suited. Extremely light, easy to use and with a fairly durable battery. I don't know how durable the chainsaw itself is, or how long the chain will last, or how easy it is to get a replacement chain. Moreover, I have some concern that it does not use chain oil as far as I can tell. That is very odd, and it may reduce the life of the chain. It comes with an assortment of stuff, that is not very useful. It has gloves, but they offer virtually no protection from the saw. I would recommend regular heavy duty leather gloves. It also has cheap eyewear. Again I would recommend better protecting eye glasses, but these are better than not wearing any at all. ... show more

This chainsaw is so awesome, lightweight and easy to use. It cuts through good size branches with ease. It comes with two batteries and 2 Chains And some little extras. I would definitely buy this again, if anything happened to this one, which it wouldn’t, because it’s very sturdy and reliable.

I wish the battery lasted a little longer but overall this is a great little saw. I have cut branches 3" to 4" thick with this saw without any issues.

I love this little saw. I can't lift much due to 6 fractured vertebraes but this saw is light enough that I have no problem. Tues. I used it off and on for 3 hrs. The next day I used it again for another hr. before the battery died. Just know, when the battery dies, the saw will start and stop and then you'll know usually that's what the problem is. Put the other battery in and off you go. I was skeptical when I saw this saw advertised but I knew it was probably the only thing that I could presently handle. As I said, I love this saw.
