It comes completely disassembled, basically the same as the photo. The directions are lousy. You have to figure out on your own how it goes together. Finding the bushing for the top chain guard meant taking it all apart and then pressing it into place from the rear with a vise in order to get the right spacing and fit. Absolute speculation on whether it was going to work and/or fail. That was the beginning of this unfortunate journey. Like most of these kits it has 2 batteries, a a couple of chains, gloves, eye protection and a bar oiler but no oil. The chain adjuster works well. It cut through 2-4 inch pine without too much difficulty. When you get it all together, take some photos with your phone so you can do it the next time correctly because there is no carry case for storage, only a cardboard box that it doesn't fit in when assembled. You'll have to take it all apart to store or find a home for all the remaining items. Cutting well is not enough. It gets only 3 stars for the higher price without being assembled from the factory, no storage case and fiddly parts that need consumer engineering to figure out. Not a fan and I would keep looking unless you're up for a challenge. ... show more

Used this little saw trimming out a live tree I had just cut down, 40 minutes and no loss of battery strength, so I’m happy to have. I was less happy during assembly. Although the chain guard is shown in instructions, no text mentions its assembly. When I opened the bottle of bar oil, it was empty. Only a small bottle and no replacement was stated.
