If you are using these for the first time on a soft wood, use caution they are sharp and cut quickly. They are good for their intended purpose, also, having an extra set of cutters is nice. Feel good while using them i.e. good control and comfortable. Good value for their cost.

I use these on a 10x18" lathe and they seem to work well. Don't have to worry about sharpening chisels or the jigs needed to do so. Wish the handle was a little longer, but no complaints otherwise.

Good value-- I use these chisels for nearly all of the turning I do, as they don't need constant sharpening. I do a lot of small items, and they work better than the other chisels I have for small items.

I'm an experienced metal machinist but this was my first time wood turning. I Bought these and am super glad I did. They use a carbide insert just like many metal cutting tools. It cuts hard woods super clean and easy. Great way to start out! When your bit gets full just loosen the screw and turn it to reveal a fresh edge. When all edges are full, throw it out (or in a carbide recycling bin if you have one) and put in a fresh bit. No fussing around with sharpening. I am new to wood turning and these carbide turning tools worked really well. I used them to turn two bowls already and they worked well. They were sharp and cut well. I used them to make a bowl from wet black walnut and a bowl from dry black walnut. Seems like a good starter set and you don't have to sharpen them. I haven't changed the tips yet. Really super sharp cutters . Nice to Handel I have a mini lath and these are super comfy for turning pens. Bowls whatever u turn . Really recommend these 👌 you won't be disappointed at all
