Keeping the product, but it came with a dead battery so did not work. Battery in unit was going to expire in March 24. Why even advertise it comes with a battery? We almost sent it back, but after replacing the battery, it works just like the advertising said. perhaps a "Duh" issue, but still.... Nice little product. Only didn't give it an overall 5 star because of the battery issue. ... show more

Very easy to use and adjust sensitivity. Using an Ace 250 with NEL Coil and this as the pointer... very effective pointer once you start digging. But I also just drag it around on a string and send it into small crevices ... found a coin in hole where I couldn't get my big fat coil into. Wife loves it ... I get a hit on the ace and she digs out the goodies! ... show more

I have detected for 30+ years without a pinpointer. This is not an essential piece of gear but is helpful for small targets or muddy conditions. This one is very simple to operate. I am not sure the discrimination feature is needed since my detector takes care of that most times. It is a little chirpy in mineralized soil if sensitivity is set too high. On shallow targets the pinpointer saves me from digging a large plug. The trend seems to be to pinpoint less, dig larger plugs, then use pinpointer to find target. The vibration and volume are easily perceived. If you like, you can turn off the sound. I will write again after I have used it for a few months and several trips. I lost first pointer. I now have a second one. I attached a 1/2 “ stainless split ring to the hole in cap and hooked a key retractor to that. Now it stays hooked to my belt loop. I can use it without removing it. I won’t walk away from it. The rings were from io tags LLC (on Amazon) and the retractor was from Key-Bak (on Amazon. Addendum: Now Nov 2021. This pinpointer has held up fantastically. I use a tip protector that I found on eBay as I tend to “root around” with it a great deal. I think a key to dependable functioning is to turn sensitivity down a notch or two from max. No leakage from water. Battery life is excellent. I still like my key retractor set up as well. ... show more

I've had the ProFind 35 pinpointer for about 2 weeks and like the adjustable sensitivity. Before I dig, I set it at maximum sensitivity, and it let's me know if my target is within 3 inches or so under the surface. If it deeper, I decrease the sensitivity after digging and this let's me find right where the coin or metal is located. It has a setting that allows for a different sound if the target is iron. The light is handy as well. I see other reviews that want to downgrade this pinpointer over the battery that's included. My view is that in my 68 years, I've never trusted or had good results with a battery that's included with anything, from tv remote controls to the one that came with this. They most all are a no-brand battery that most likely won't last a few minutes at best. I always dispose of it. Do yourself a favor and put a good alkaline 9v in this pinpointer and your good to go. This way you get several days of problem free use from it. ... show more
