  • Best purchase ever!
Milwaukee tools. I absolutely love the product. I know all tools may not to be to my liking, but for Someone not knowing really what is good and not so good, or even worth the money. This weed eater is totally what it and others reported it to be. As for me, I wasn’t going to expect much from a battery powered weed eater. I am coming from a engine powered home troybiilt. That I have had for years. I really didn’t like taking in out of the garage just because it was a pain in the ass to use it. The Milwaukee kills it in every aspect. I want to mention that the 5.0 battery that came with my Impact, and Drill work great for my whole yard .5 acres I use one battery, and possibly go to the next on rare occasions. I cannot say enough of its power, Weight and balances. Anyway I hope this helps anyone getting ready to purchase, it obvious helps if you purchase more than one Milwaukee product utilizing the product family. ... show more

  • Good Tools (and a big battery) Make Short Work
The media could not be loaded. Own several Milwaukee M18 tools (and batteries), like this timer all are workhorses. Unboxed this and put it to work within minutes. Line is loaded, only need to assemble handle and guard. Shoulder strap is an add-on accessory, but not really needed imo. The trimmer is well-built and appropriately heavy, but well balanced. About 20 minutes of near constant cutting on a 6.0 battery; acceptable in my opinion since this thing does not balk or load up at anything. The line provided is extremely durable. You may be able to bump feed it; I was working in gravel and rocks and just pulled it out manually. Another fine addition to the 18v lineup. ... show more

  • Reliable, works great on tough weeds
The Milwaukee string trimmer I just bought I got for someone else, but I've had one for at least 5 or 6 years now, and it's still going strong. I have a lot of tough and thick grass/weeds to trim during spring and summer, and it works very well. Haven't had any problems with it. I generally use the 12 Ah batteries and get 40 to 45 minutes out of them. The trimmer is fairly lightweight, although the longer run batteries do add a bit of extra weight, but even then, it's not too heavy for me. Also, you can get other extensions, like a pole saw, that work with the basic tool Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Milwaukee never fails.
Quality. Battery lasts longer than a would think. Cord that comes with it is horrible. .95 works great. Easy to reload line. Lightweight. Probably would work better if you took off the line cover shield. Only has a short spool of line that lets you feed out.

  • Quality piece
I had a spare 5 Ah battery and used that - I brutalized the trimmer doing some pretty heavy cutting for over a half-hour before it started getting tired and it worked very nicely. Bottom line: Not quite as strong as a gas-powered unit, but far less hassle, and much more capable than the Stihl corded unit it is replacing - I have a large yard, and the convenience of a quality cordless trimmer is a real treat. ... show more

  • Impressive
Very impressive weed eater on a single charge was able to weed eat all the yard and edge the sidewalks on a standard 18 volt battery

  • Faulty trimmer
The trimmer would shut off on its own, I’ve only had it for 4 months.

  • All The Quality I Expect From Milwaukee
I've wanted this item for many months now but had to put it off because of price. I am fortunate in that I already have the M18 impact gun with two 5ah batteries. Item comes in a sturdy box, assembles easily. Extremely well-balanced and ergonomically designed, compared to my smaller Ryobi lithium-powered trimmer. I would estimate the Milwaukee has perhaps 3/4 the power of a 30cc gas-powered trimmer, which is completely adequate for all but the most serious jobs and should be perfectly suitable for the average homeowner. I don't see it surviving long in a commercial environment, and it is unlikely that this is a use it was designed for. Run time is approx. 40 minutes on a charge (again, keep in mind I am using the 5ah batts). I started with relatively light tasks and eventually was taking down 20-inch high "saw grass" without too much effort. I would note that this is probably at the higher end of the unit's design parameters and would not recommend extended use (over a half-hour) in this type of grass as it could possibly cause overheating. I have been consistently impressed with the performance of my M18 impact wrench (pro mechanic of 20+ years) and expected similar high performance from their string trimmer. I am in no way disappointed. This unit is light, powerful, easily maneuvered and suitable for perhaops 90 percent of the tasks required of a string trimmer. A very nice purchase. ... show more
