Best cut off wheel in grinder on the market. Hands down. It doesn't be a corded grinder but it is the best for cordless. I'm an ironworker as well so I use it daily.

    • Get Forge 12A battery, but cuts well with all M18's
I use it with three smaller M18 batteries, these are old batteries about 10 years old but the still power my drill for a long time, these grinder about 5 minutes each before cutting out. I know this will age these small batteries but they are quite old already but I do not recommend using new lower watt hour batteries with this grinder. If you are on the job and not just hobby like me get the big High amperage battery. Forge 12Ah. It supplied me 10 minutes of minimal pauses grinding and used 1 tick of the four bar indicator. They aren't cheap but I expect it will last a decade (for my low intensity use) before I consider retiring it to low powered uses like the 120 x 2 outlet inverter module. The grinder is solid and fully replaced my corded grinder and, though weighty, is balanced with the big battery causing less fatigue than with the smaller battery. The grinder will cut out before the charge depletes (you get one blinking tick) to the point of stalling or battery damage but on tail end I did notice a slowdown which may cause issues not seen in corded grinding. I do not like the auto brake, it abruptly stops the wheel and sounds like it will be the first point of failure but those that cannot lose time to spin down will appreciate it. ... show more

Other than having it returned twice until had to have it sent to dad to forward to me, it works well, stops fast. However, if you use a screwed on grinder wheel, the shield will not fit do to height of wheel to shield clearance

First off, I started out with the basic grinder from Milwaukee, not fuel no brake. It was ok. Now THIS thing is ridiculous! Lots of power, especially with the forge batteries. Battery life is way better than the basic one I had. Fells great, a bit on the heavy side but I do industrial machete and do a lot of cutting and grinding and this thing holds up very well. There isn't anything I've thrown at it that it hasn't just eaten up. We're talking grinding rocks, flap wheel discs, wire wheels of all sizes, just anything. Would highly recommend this one and they have a variable speed version if u need that sort of thing, I don't. So for the price and what you get? Total win win! Don't hesitate, just get it! ... show more

This thing is a beast!!!!! It's a Milwaukee tool I don't have to say much. I will definitely recommend buying either a forged battery or one of those high output m18 batteries. I used one of those regular m18 xc batteries the grinder worked magic but the battery went down super quick but I think that's because it was a xc and not a high output or forged. overall I love this grinder ... show more
