  • Nice quality
Works and fit my hole saws nicely

  • Works with 3/8" Drills and large 5/8"-18 thread hole-saw interfaces
The big advantage of this arbor is that it works with popular drills with 3/8" chucks and has the 5/8"-18 interface thread used by larger hole saws. This allows common 3/8" drills to be used with larger hole-saw blades for those cases where the cutting forces are low enough to allow use of a 3/8" drill and not require a 1/2" drill. This was very important to me, as I don't own a 1/2" drill, and wanted to use one of my many 3/8" drills for cutting holes in the ceiling for 4" recessed lighting cans. Another nice feature of the Milwaukee arbor is that its pin extractor mechanism toggles in & out so that one doesn't have to constantly hold the pins back when threading on the hole saw blade (in contrast to the Dewalt design). After the blade in screwed on, one simply snaps the pins out into the engaged position. The only issue I encountered was the set screw that holds the pilot drill was in incredibly tight. I had to briefly heat the mechanism with a torch to get the set screw to untighten. For my application I wanted to use a longer pilot drill. The 1/4" drill that comes with the unit only sticks out about 2 1/4 " beyond the rear base of of the hole saw blade. By loosening the set screw, one can extend it out another 3/4". In my case I swapped the pilot drill for the one from my Dewalt arbor, which is also about a 1/2" inch longer that the Milwaukee pilot drill. Works great...highly recommended! ... show more

  • Replaced one that broke but… it was abused.
It’s good for medium pressure the back won’t pop off coming loose. If you’re drilling into something really fast really hard it’s bouncing the back will come loose. Light pressure through aluminum and steel. It will be fine. If you’re gonna put a lot of pressure you’ll want some thing with the threaded back that locks it in tightly. If you’re gonna abuse it you want the next shaft size up with the threaded back nut. This is great for medium duty work. No problem for light work such as wood it’s very fast changing. I’m guessing about 20 pounds of pressure is all I put on it when more pressure was put on it. It popped open. It’s really fast changing medium duty. For heavy duty get a threaded back nut type. ... show more
