This was a job specific purchase involving the installation of an ADA grab bar in a tub/shower. It required six wall anchors in LFT porcelain tiles. The 3/16" bit took care of the pilot hole and then finished with the 1/4" bit to accept the anchor. (The 5/16" bit will surely get some work before long) The pilot took some time but the finish was quick. The hole was clean with no chipping on the tile. There really is no way to get around the tedium of this work. I have yet to find a solution that just blows through porcelain tile like sheet rock. These bits performed as well if not above most others I've used. I have yet to use a Milwaukee product that let me down and that informed confidence makes the price worth it. With care and patience the job will get done though it may not happen as quick as you like. From authorization to layout to trial and install, I'd say it took about 90 minutes. Use a slow speed on your drill (NOT A HAMMER DRILL!!) and keep the bits cool and wet with water. Start small, work your way up to the final dimension so you'll have a clean job and bits you can use again. Recommended. Enjoy! ... show more

These are like tiny hole saws for ceramic or porcelain tile. They worked perfectly with no cracking or breaking of the tiles. Have somebody help you hold your drill from the right side to keep it from traveling until you get your hole started. Taping the spot helps and starting at an angle helps but it is still going to travel. ... show more

I purchased these to cut a small hole in a plate mirror! I held a wet sponge next to the bit and it worked great! I did this while mirror was attached to the wall! Would have been perfect if I could have attached tape to the back of the hole! I was very pleased with ease of use and the result!
