Description

Save yourself time on your next door lock installation. Use the Milwaukee 49-22-4073 kit. It has most everything you would need to cut clean holes in preparation for your locks and deadbolts. It’s an all-in-one template that can be installed in seconds. Instead of using fasteners like screws to keep the template on, like some other systems, this one utilizes a clamp. This prevents you from marring your work surface and gives you perfect alignment for centered holes. This will work with almost any 1 3/8" or 1 3/4“ doors. With the included saw blades and arbor bits, there is nothing extra you need to pick up, save for a drill / driver to put it all together. These saw blades are made of carbide coated teeth backed by reinforced steel to prevent wobble so you can get a clean cut every time. Cut into your door, and clear the accumulated plug out in seconds when you’re finished. With this 49-22-4073 kit from Milwaukee, you’ll be able to work on dozens of doors throughout the workday with ease.

  • Works great - Easy to use
I used this to enlarge the holes in the interior doors in my house so I could fit new hardware. I am a do-it-yourselfer who has never worked on doors before. This tool made it easy from the first use. The hole saws are good quality and went right through old, solid core doors. Note: you may need a wrench to remove the hole saw from the pilot bit, but it comes right off once you know how to do it. I found it easy to swap between the 1" and 2-1/8th" hole saws. Great product. ... show more

  • Decent piece of kit. Actually the second one I’ve bought.
Actually the second one I’ve bought. Used the first one quite a bit, and plastic doesn’t last forever. Not the most accurate, but gets the job done. Nice price point.

  • Durable, adjustable, just have a wrench handy.
I am a contractor and I bought this to add a deadbolt to a garage door for a client. It worked as easy as you can hope. It’s on you to make the measurement of where to drill, but the drilling process was easy, and smooth. One thing to watch out for is when disconnecting the larger hole saw, oh will need an adjustable wrench to remove it once you’ve drilled the big hole. I didn’t have one and had to improvise. I expect to get many doors drilled with this before it wears out. ... show more

  • Good for Small Jobs
As a handyman, I sometimes install door knobs, dead bolts, and locksets. When it's just one or two of something, I don't bother with a kit like this. I bought it for one particular job that required the installation of 6 deadbolts thinking it might help me do the job quicker, which it did. For the most part, the jig is easy to use and pretty accurate. You do have to be careful tightening the clamp to make sure you stay level and the jig doesn't wander as you tighten it. One major drawback is if you are installing something on a door that has half or full view glass, the jig will not easily fit over the frame of the glass. It's a little dicey getting it to stay in place and drill straight. The other issue is the longevity of the jig and the hole saws. As much as I tried not to, I caught the edges of the jig with my drill. They got chewed up a bit. The doors I worked on were exterior doors with metal skins and wood cores. The larger hole saw dulled by the time I got to the sixth door. Since the smaller hole saw only went through wood, it lasted longer. As others have commented, this is great for a homeowner doing household projects, but not great for someone who uses it a lot. However, it's not super expensive and is easily replaced. You would pay $26.00 just for the hole saws. Whatever drill you use, make sure the supplied arbor for the larger whole saw will fit the chuck. It was actually too big for my hammer drill. I use a separate arbor for each size hole saw so I can change them easily. It can be very difficult to loosen the bit assembly and the arbor in order to change the whole saw. ... show more

  • Great but had to alter the size
The only problem was I was using it on 2 metal doors with windows. The window moulding would not allow the jig to sit flush. I ended up cutting a strip of plastic off the jig just past the 2 3/8 circle so it would fit. The jig still worked fine, but Milwaukee needs to shorten it by about 1/2" so it will work on these common doors that so many regular residences have with the glass and built in blinds. ... show more

  • Easy and Accurate to use.
I needed to install a door handle and latch for an installed pocket door. Since a pocket door is very hard to remove, I did not want to make any mistakes with the installation of the door handle and latch hardware. This Milwaukee Door Kit was the perfect answer. It came with all you would need to make the necessary holes, including clear instructions. I had the two holes marked and drilled in about 5 minutes. A great Value! ... show more

  • Not for making exisitng holes larger
I bought a new deadbolt to replace an old broken one. Unfortunately, the new deadbolt required the larger, standard 2 1/8" hole. I was hoping this tool would help me make the hole larger, but it is NOT designed to do that and will instead move all around (no matter how hard you clamp it down) effectively having the hole saw move all around the door and make a lovely mess. This device simply cannot clamp on with enough force to hold still. Rather, it uses the pilot drill (centered in the hole saw) keep the hole saw from moving. In other words, if you have an existing hole, the pilot drill has nothing to drill into and this will hinder, not help your project. A better solution would be to make your own wood jig - so you can drill into it, then into the door. Hindsight is 20/20. ... show more
