Wow, I heard good things about this drill but I have to say.. It was all true. I have a lot of holes to drill in concrete walls and ceilings and the Milwaukee drill performed perfect . Very pleased with its performance. I would recommend this drill to anyone who needs to do some serious drilling. The drill bits never once slipped and cut thru the cement like a pro. I bought this to use for boring 1” holes into wood using an auger bit. I just used it on a construction 2x12 as a test. (Soft wood, but keep reading). Straight out of the box with a barely charged battery, it was through in under 10 seconds, might have even been 5. To compare, my prior drill, which I’ve had NO COMPLAINTS with after using for many years, a Makita 18v, was literally smoking (motor, not auger bit) while drilling hole #3. And it struggled the whole way. I still HIGHLY recommend the Makita 18v for all wood drilling short of a 1” auger. Prior cuts with a 3/8” spade bit went just fine. When SERIOUS POWER is needed, this one is EXCELLENT. Probably overkill for many. It was overkill for me until that 1” auger. I am highly confident performance in oak will also be exceptional. It is a poweful tool and well designed. The only negative point is that the charger only operates on an 110v input, not 220v. This was not beforehand advertised.
