I picked up this grinder to cut metal, grind away brick mortar, and sharpen grass cutter blades, and it performs great! The variable speed is a nice feature, and it has plenty of power for the tasks I need. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think I would have preferred the slide button model for convenience. However, that version was $100 more, so this was still a great deal. Wow super impressive. The build quality is excellent. The rapid stop works great and the paddle switch is reasonably easy to use with the safety toggle ( which I will probably remove ) I have gone through 3 other brand grinders and finally paid the extra for the milwaukee. I won't say what brand fails but it rhymes with sHitachi. The brushless motor sounds amazing and none of my other brushless fuel products have failed even with the salt spray air ( see photo of location of use). 5+ years of use. Sometimes Milwaukke and Dewalt don't get a product right. This is one of those times Milwaukee missed. The locking button becomes difficult to depress after the grinder starts getting dusty. Switching blades is a hassle. The grinder is well built and heavy duty with excellent power and the variable speed function is great, but functional use on a daily bases is a pain. I will buy the Dewalt (easier functional use...check it out) and keep this as a back up. ... show more
