  • Worth the investment
This has been a great addition for yard work. I was finally able to clean up some hard to get areas and also got the edging attachment so my yard can look well-kept like I learned from a previous landlord. The weight is good and the battery lasted plenty long for my yard. I think I was able to use it multiple times on a single charge. It was also a better deal for me to order this than deal with getting it sorted through home depot where I was living at the time. ... show more

Years of having gas trimmers honestly what he heck was I doing?!? Love this trimmer! 3 power settings and slap in the batteries right off my tool box.. I’ve never had any issues! Definitely a game changer!

  • Well worth the money.
Why didn’t I purchase this sooner. Powerful and efficient. Well balanced and easy to use. Nice to have and not smell like two stroke gas. Highly recommend.

  • First Impressions
Assembly was simple and relatively quick. The trimmer is powerful and capable. I caught a 10 gauge solid copper ground wire and it wrapped around the trim head twice before I could let off the trigger! I have four 4 amp hour batteries which are lasting 15-20 minutes of run time each in very tall, thick, weeds and grass. This seems acceptable and, if this was how I used the trimmer normally, I would invest in some 12AH Forge batteries. The trigger has no means to lock on. This strikes me as really cheap, sub-standard and dangerous. A trigger lock, which disengages as soon as the trigger is actuated, is common on power tools, many of them Milwaukees, like my angle grinder. Why doesn't this trimmer have one? The lack of one will lead to people using zip ties and other unsafe methods to lock the trigger. A shoulder strap was not purchased with the trimmer but is definitely needed. The string advance is very stiff and takes a great deal of force to actuate. Too much force to simply tap it and feed out string. I am having to stop, turn the trimmer around and manually feed the string. Some of this is likely my inexperience or the string that came installed is wound poorly. ... show more

  • The perfect tool with the power of a titan to tackle those intense yards!
This is one damn fine product!!! Nothing beats Milwaukee tools! I have tested so many other brands in their various tools and Milwaukee just took the most abuse and still rocks like its brand new out of the box. Lived in Germany and landlords had left me with an atrocious yard that probably had not been maintained in 10 years. Once I got through some basic cutting with a lawnmower, I had this shipped to the EU to unleash my fury on the remaining weeds and edges that just needed a tool with extra kick. This baby cut through all of it like a hot knife through butter. Nothing is going to cut through the weeds and edges faster than this tool! Not to mention it’s very light weight and easy to setup! I’ve moved back home to the states and I did some basic yard work on my new home and I was done in minutes thanks to Milwaukee!!! You truly won’t be disappointed with this! ... show more

  • Usual Excellent Milwaukee Quality and Performance
This is my 18th year in the lawn care business. Last year I purchased a battery-operated Milwaukee impact wrench, to make changing mower blades easier - no more having to fire up my air compressor and reel out the air line, then reel it back in after. With that purchase I also bought an M18 5.0 battery, and a charger. I was so impressed with its performance (and still am) that I decided to go 'gasless' and give this string trimmer a shot. I figured the worst that could happen is I use it as a backup to my Echo SRM 266 gas trimmer. So I bought this trimmer and an M18 High Output HD 12.0 battery, to have a battery strong enough to handle trimming Many lawns every day. Not surprisingly, I am very impressed with this machine. It's equal in every way to what my gas-powered equipment can do. The fact that it's attachment-capable is a bonus, and it's really nice to not have to even think about gasoline. My Echo may now be the 'backup'. The grass isn't growing real fast YET, here in florida, so the last three days I used the trimmer, I only did 3 - 4 lawns each day, and it barely put a dent in the 12.0 battery; by the weekend it still had 75 percent battery capacity left. I haven't found anything that this trimmer can't do, that my gas trimmer can do. Half a lifetime ago I was a drywall hanger for a decade, and Milwaukee screw guns were the BEST, hands down. That quality hasn't changed. As many others have noted, you just can't beat Milwaukee quality! If you buy this beast, you won't regret it. ... show more

  • Milwaukee does it Again!
Milwaukee does it again! I've owned Milwaukee cordless tools for a few years now. We got them at work, and it stood up to the mother of all tests there. The guys I worked with apparently were not taught to take care of their tools. And they were put through the "acid test" every single day. And even though the tools were totally abused, they worked great! I grew frustrated with my own personal cordless tools at home. (Yellow/black) The batteries didn't last as long, in fact I was on my 2nd set of batteries and needing a 3rd set when I decided to switch to red. While they were a bit more expensive, they've been well worth the investment. And every year, Milwaukee comes up with a new way for me to spend my money! This trimmer out performed my old gas trimmer easily. And now I see a whole bunch of M12 & M18 tools I should probably have to keep the others I own company. Anyone want to buy a set of used (yellow & black) cordless 18v tools? ... show more

  • Weed Eater!
After purchasing two other brands, which were cheaper and not as easy to put together, I decided it was time to step it up. Hello Milwaukee. Putting it together was a breeze. It's larger than most weed eaters and heavier but man oh man, does it do the job. Weeds have no chance. Powerful. This is one bad boy. Highly recommend. Couple of cons: mentioned taller & heavier than many other models plus you have to buy the battery and charger separately! Combined gets costly but it's worth it. Guard attachment is okay but doesn't stop everything. Wear long pants plus you have to wear safety goggles. Great weed eater though. Best I've ever owned. ... show more
