  • Easy to install, easy to get working
works just like oem. This is one of the easier sensors to replace on the e46 and this sensor checked all the box. It works plug and play, just take the old one out, put the new one in it works like a charm. If your adaptive headlights aren't working, this might be the solution for you to fix that problem. The way this sensor works is it measures the movement of the suspension moving the adaptive headlights to their correct spot for the best visibility. If the leaver snaps then you loose that function. ... show more

  • Doesn't Fit E39 Air Suspension w/o Modification Doesn't Fit E39 Air Suspension w/o Modification
I have an E39 touring that recently threw a code for the air suspension so I plugged in INPA and confirmed that my left sensor was bad as it was showing 0 volts and figured I would give this sensor a try. Right out of the box I noticed that the spots to screw it in where different, I figured I could probably finagle it, but I ended up needing to remove one of the threaded inserts from the oem sensor and had to drill out the hole and press the threaded insert in. On top of that when I plugged in this sensor the voltage didn't change from 0.46 volts, except for when I rotated the arm 180 degrees, which lead me to believe it is supposed to be a right hand sensor out of the box, so I had to carefully remove the arm and rotate it 180 degrees. After all that it does appear to be working correctly, so if you are willing to go through all that it should work, however from the reading I've done it sounds like you should really go with OEM or nothing. We'll see how long this sensor lasts but if it fails I will definitely be buying an OEM one. (In the photo new sensor on the left OEM one on the right) ... show more
