Currently in the middle of working on my 2005 avalanche 1500 5.3 front end. Ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links, upper control arm, pitman arm, idler arm bracket pivot and the idler arm. When the parts arrived, nothing was missing. Everything was there. Got everything on except the pitman arm. The pitman is the only thing left. The picture shows the ball joints, upper control arm, sway bar links, and inner and outer tie rods. The parts seem really nice and sturdy. A buddy of mine has recommended Detroit Axle because they are the lower budget friendly option of a kit. Was originally going to buy each part individually, but then he showed me this. The ball joints is what needed replaced and the idler and pitman arm, but I decided to buy this kit and do the others. Now installing can be easy or difficult depending on the old parts that have rust on them. My truck is 21 years old and every bolt and part was rusted and all all parts had to be beaten with hammers or cut with a grinder or sawzaw. But after that, getting the new parts on is very easy. As far as actually seeing how the new hold up, i won't know til the truck is completed and gets and alignment very soon. Will do an update later on maybe in a couple of weeks or a month or so. But if you are on a budget as far as price, I'm sure there wouldn't be any problems. ... show more

    • Lower ball joint broke in 2 pieces
1 Lower ball joint broke in 2 pieces and the other one had to replace in less than a year after installation. They are cheaply made. I'll post a picture of the broken one it broke after few months of installation. I have a picture of the balljoint.

Definitely worth the money it helps you out if you’re working on a tight budget had mine for 3 years and I do a lot of mild muddin so you get what you pay I’d prefer duralast or moog parts but I can’t afford them but this is budget friendly here

    • Great bang for the buck
I was surprised at the quality and fitment of the parts. Was a technician for GM and Chrysler for many yrs and worked in several mom/pop shops so i have have worked with many various parts manufacturers in the past. Bought these for my own personal vehicles as i own several GM SUV's and trucks. Put the a-arms in my Denali, fit perfect and so far still tight. Put the inner and outer ties rods on my Duramax with a plow, again, still tight and handling great. I plan to buy another kit for my 1500 series and my 2500HD "some parts do interchange". ... show more

I have installed most of these parts. They all fit really well and are very sturdy! It was a better deal to buy the whole kit, then just buy the parts individually. I have all the tools required to do the job so I don’t want to pay a mechanic to do it. Just remember, you have to get the car after you install this stuff. ... show more

DO NOT BUY Bought this kit to replace my front end on 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 worked great for a little bit 4 months later I notice my truck is driving absolutely horrible and I have bad alignment wear on brand new tires I bought a week after the front end so I went to the place that I bought the tires from and they also done the alignment they inspected it and top and bottom ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, idler arm bracket are all completely shot and causing my wheel to lean at bad angles completely ruining 2 brand new tires in less that 8,000 miles.     • Not too bad ..Update
I received the parts quickly. The upper control arm had some light colored sand around the ball joint, it blew away with an air tool, the attached nut was out of round, no good. One of the outer tie rods had a missing nut (not easy to find, extra fine thread). The kit had all pieces except the pitman arm. Both Amazon and Detroit Axle customer service was timely and professional. Only downside to Detroit Axle customer service it took a couple days of back and forth emails. UPDATE, I went to have the truck aligned, upon inspection found the idler arm, bracket, and pitman arm were all junk. I bought an arm and bracket from AutoZone, and Pitman arm from O'Reilly SMH. Everything else was good to go. I've bought several things from Detroit Axle over the years and had fairly good experiences but they're not intended to last over a year probably for most things in my opinion. If you know you have a project coming up do yourself a favor and save that money and buy something that's going to be dependable that you can easily and quickly replace under warranty. ... show more
