This air filter is The Chosen One fortold in prophecy. Long have I yearned for the fresh air stolen by our modern world and promised by dreams of health, freedom and prosperity. Life's problems fade a little bit with every breath I draw. I now breath as though free. (for real though, the one thing keeping this from 5 stars across the board is that the smart feature "quiet mode" seems to over ride everything else, regardless of what the air is like. Mount Doom could be belching sulfur and ash directly into my living room and silent mode will restrain Mila from selecting any other automagic setting. If my living room is darkened by the fires of Mordor, I need to manually intervene and adjust the dull-witted automagic mode to get any relief. The setup was very easy. I did have a small problem on the app after the 3rd day of having Mila, but it was a known problem that was being worked on. Customer service responded very quickly and the problem was resolved. The air purifier works great. The air smells fresh and clean. The part that I was really impressed with was the humidity alert that I received. I have the Mila air purifier on the finished side of the basement. I checked our dehumidifier on the unfinished side of the basement and it was not working. I was glad that Mila detected that the humidity level was high and alerted me early so I could get the problem fixed. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. ... show more

Worked great while it worked. I bought it to help control dog odor in my small (1200sq ft) home. I have three dogs, sometimes I’d come home and get hit with that “doggy” smell. The Mila worked great in the main living area of our home, which probably accounts for about 800sq ft. It’s sensors are sensitive and because my house is so small the most central location for it just happens to be about 10 feet away from my stove, so whenever I cooked anything the Mila seemed to think the air quality was suddenly deadly and it would kick into high gear. But it did really clear the air fast, and those doggy odors were a thing of the past. I was never able to purchase the pet-specific filter for this as they were always out of stock, but I got the expectant mother one which also had charcoal for odor control, and it worked like a champ. Overall very pleased with this until it suddenly died this month. It’s two years and two months old, and for the price it seems short-lived. I have other air purifiers in our bedrooms that cost less than half and have been going strong for years and years. I emailed support but once I confirmed I was out of the warranty period they basically ghosted me, with no further advise for me. I also occasionally had issues with wifi connectivity, especially towards the end of its life. Not a huge deal as I rarely had cause to use the app in conjunction with it. I won’t buy this brand again. I bought another brand for less than half what a Mila costs, even with the 3-year warranty I bought to go with it, and I’m very impressed with it. ... show more

    • Not working after one month

This filter has stopped working correctly after one month. The AQI reading has suddenly jumped to a sky high number with no clear cause - nothing in the house has changed to explain this. Resetting the unit does nothing. I replaced the very expensive filter with no change. No response to my inquiry to the manufacturer. Very disappointed. Edit: The company support was subsequently responsive and worked with me to correct the fault with the unit. My only complaint is that it is louder than I would like on automatic mode when it 'ramps up' to a higher speed. ... show more

It's been a positive experience but the app really needs to support variable Bedtime/wake up schedules (it currently only supports one bedtime schedule). Bubble Boy Mode is a hilarious name and I love the accompanying video, and yes, I use it! Update 4/12: I am sufficiently impressed with the air filter that I have already purchased a second one to use upstairs in my house. Still can't recommend this enough! I've only had it setup for 24 hours, but first impression is excellent. The unit is securely packaged, and it arrived right on time. Setup is extremely easy. All you have to do is take it out of the box, remove the front panel to take the filter out and remove the plastic, then put it back in and plug it in! The filter turns on with the flip of a switch on the bottom next to the power cord. It boots up and instantly starts calibrating its sensors, which takes about 60 seconds. Connecting to the app is very simple. The app walks you through it and it took me less than a minute to get it up and running. The app and the filter itself give you updates on how your air is looking, and it definitely responds quickly to any changes in the environment. Last night, I fried some chicken for dinner, and the air quality index rating shot up on the filter. It immediately started working overtime to get the air cleared of any of the pollutants put off by frying. With the fan on it's highest setting, it can be fairly loud, but normal running speeds are barely perceptible. There are different modes you can put the filter in as well to avoid having the fan going full speed, or to meet the needs you have. I can already tell a difference in how easy it is to breathe in my house. Obviously, I will update this review in the future if the need arises, but as of right now, I can highly recommend the filter to anyone who is suffering from the evils of spring and pollen. ... show more

Having allergies and a long-haired dog, I tried the Mila after having a bad experience with Molekule (which wouldn’t connect to the app). It was a blessing in disguise, because this machine is amazing! I bought another Mila a few days before for our bedroom, and for the first time in quite awhile, I woke up and could breathe clearly. I also wasn’t soaked in sweat. I set this one up in our family room, which is part of an open concept main floor in a two-story space. I painted my daughters’ nails in the next room and noticed the Mila kicked on high. So, I looked at the app and was shocked to see it picked up the smell of the nail polish from a room over (see pictures). Even my husband couldn’t believe it. It’s a little larger than expected, but is nice to look at. So far, so great! ... show more

    • An expensive fan with weak air filteration

I have two units. I have had the mid-price filters and now the most expensive. I live in Central Oregon. It's dusty here. Yes, the fan turns on when it detects something but does poorly in filtering. It's simply not strong enough. I have had experience with a Molekule and now own two Air Oasis units which are so expensive. (Over $1,200). I bought the Milas before the Air Oasis units, hoping they would do a great job. Compared with these running in some rooms and the Mila units in others, the Mila filters are still very clean after 3-4 months, whereas the Air Oasis is very dirty. They need replacing far sooner, and the air pull is much stronger. The air smells fresher in the units. The Mila units look good, but it was a poor buy for me. I recommend spending the money on something more expensive with a much better and more robust job filtering. I am a Lyme who suffers from a weak auto-immune system. Proper air filtration is essential to my health routine. ... show more

I purchased this air purifier to replace my old one and it’s great and has a good app to go with it but only sometimes. Outside of air purifying capabilities, the rest of Mila is buggy. I experience disconnects from my device with the app at least 1-5 times a day. The temperature measurement is wrong 100% of the time reading about 5-7 degrees higher than it really is. This last thing may just be my lack of knowledge on air quality but my C02 and TVOC levels are identical 100% of the time. ... show more

I wasn’t sure if this would be worth it at first but around Black Friday they had it for $330 so I went with this over Blue Air. This is not my first air purifier so I made sure to look for one with activated carbon pellets since I’m using this in the living room/ kitchen. Mila is by far the most effective at purification and removal of odors. It has helpful smart features that are a huge step above the others and the app works great. The sensors on this device are pretty sensitive, it picks up changes in air quality in different rooms Customer service works great, mines came in a factory calibration mode that I couldn’t get out of but they told me to hold the 3 buttons and it was fixed. We installed this unit a week before we turned our heating (gas boiler) on for the season. The boiler is in the basement and the air purifier is on the 2nd floor. Within an hour the air purifier started detecting carbon monoxide. The level of carbon monoxide kept rising. When it reached 150 PPM we turned off the boiler and the level of carbon monoxide dropped to almost zero within 10 minutes. We were able to use this data to get our HVAC company to come out and service the boiler. ... show more
