It took me a long time to buy this fan. I was very on the fence. Looking back on it and to not bore you to death, my take away from owning one for a few months is this: 1. It’s quiet. Below 5 it is extremely silent, and the best part is that the oscillation is silent; Every single tower fan I have owned creaks when they oscillate. To get technical - it’s mostly because the other fans have blades that sit upright, so when the fan turns from left to right, the blades jostle around and shudder a little. For $400 this one absolutely does NOT do that. Fan is mounted at the base, and spins on the same axis that the fan oscillates on. So that’s a win. 2. It is an air purifier. Can’t say I really care too much about this, because I actually got it almost exclusively because- 3. It’s good looking. Honestly it is a striking looking piece of fan art. People notice it, and although it’s not quite as shiny and glossy as the ad pictures, it’s a Dyson. And in the world of fans, the Dysons are like the Kennedy’s. High echelon and seemingly always in vogue. Doesn’t matter why they’re top tier, they just... are. It’ll strike a discussion for sure once someone sees it - so don’t hide this thing! You’re paying top dollar for it. So, it blows air and it’s quiet. It supposedly cleans air too. But honestly, there are 50 dollar alternatives. You know that. I know that. This fan even knows that - but who could really say no to this thing? It’s a charmer. If you got the money to blow and you’ve always wanted one, then save up a little and give it a shot. You won’t be surprised, but won’t be disappointed either.

Got this on sale and it has been an excellent fan so far. Very quiet and puts out a good amount of air. We keep it at a level 5 and it works perfect at night time. Not very loud at all. The Pros: Well made very quiet remote works good (see below though) has built in filter puts out a good amount of air has a timer the top of the fan has a magnet that holds the remote in place Cons: Expensive (look for a sale) the remote has to be pointed at the base in order to work Overall and excellent fan.

I had no idea how often my dog farted until I started working from home. I had ordered the gen. 1 dyson pure cool HEPA to help alleviate my seasonal allergies, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t filter farts beautifully. So, problem #1 - (unseemly odors) - solved! As for the allergies, I did notice improvement after only one night, though, I wouldn’t call it significant improvement. To be fair it has only been one night, and my bedroom could use a run of the vacuum (also a dyson which I LOVE!). On the lower speeds it’s extremely quiet. Right around level 6 it gets noticeably louder, but nothing like a standard fan. And I’m not sure why, but the air it blows feels cooler than a standard fan. It also takes up less space. The remote is teeny tiny so I’ll probably lose it, and I’m not sure how to adjust the power level or timer without it. But dyson is very thoughtful in design so I’m sure there is a way. The newer versions have impressive interactive technology, but I didn’t feel like I needed to have a relationship with my HEPA filter so I selected this, much less expensive version. It sits handsomely in the corner of my apartment and does just what I need it to do +

I will start off with saying that I never thought I'd spend close to $400 on a fan but I'm happy I did! This product kicks! It also has an air purifier which is easy to change the filter. Timer, oscillating and different speeds are all controlled by the remote. Unique design is pretty cool as well. If you want a powerful, reliable and stylish fan this is the one. It does cost some money but it is so worth it I bought 2 more.

I didn't actually buy this for the air purification or the cooling fan, although both of those aspects are great. I bought it because a friend told me how much cleaner their floors seemed to stay. This is my weak spot! Help me do housework by running a fan? Totally in! I suppose the air is cleaner, I don't really have problems with that. And the fan is definitely nice, good flow, fairly quiet. But the floors aren't dusty anymore! For someone that likes to leave the windows open a lot this is a big thing!

So far , i haven’t really seen too much a a change . I have really bad allergies and really wanted to see if this would change anything . Honestly , it’s too big to transfer from room to room comfortably. It is quiet but again I like portability. For as big as it is , it feels flimsy . Strong cable , I would say the materials that they use are pretty good . Can get loud on full blast but very quiet on other settings . Very nice look compared to other traditional fans . 400 bucks for a fan ? I rather get a regular fan for 40 bucks and use my shark to pick up allergens . My overall thought are . If you have the money , get it because I do feel there are benefits but If you don’t have the money , I believe there are other options . Too expensive for some . Remote control is the size of a tic-tac and you have to be 4 feet from the fan to consistently get it to change .

When the furnace began to run this fall, my wife and I both suffered from upper respiratory allergies in the morning. I bought the Dyson unit because it works both as a filter and as a fan (we use a fan blowing across our bed during the hot summer months). The first morning after I installed this unit, our sneezing and dripping stopped; sinus pain and drainage stopped. No need for all the WiFi nonsense; we let the unit run at 80% during the day and 40% at night. Above 50% there is some white noise but we don't consider it bothersome. The hand-held remote control is completely adequate for our needs. At Thanksgiving time, my wife made some apple pies. This usually fills the whole house with the smell of apples and spices. Not anymore. The filter removes the odors from its end of the house. At first I thought this unit was a bit pricey, but no. It is worth every penny.
