This is a great bargain in terms of performance, utility, and price. I needed a small freezer to supplement the one in my refrigerator, and this compact unit is just right. It arrived in perfect condition and maintains the temperature I selected (-5F to 0F), using very little electricity (it is rated at 100 watts, like a regular light bulb). It is amazing how much I can fit into its compact space. It is made by Midea, a very large and high-quality assembler and manufacturer that produces freezers and refrigerators for many brands. I also have a nearly identical Kenmore brand small refrigerator made by this company, and it has worked flawlessly for around 8 years so far. I expect the same from this freezer. The freezer arrived with a puncture and long dent in the door. The packaging had been taped with black tape all along the bottom as if it had been resealed. The foam board padding was not punctured at the damaged site in the door leading one to believe it had been repackaged with new padding. There was no manual or paperwork in the box. I like the freezer. It is perfect for my needs, but am reluctant to reorder because of this experience. I do not fault the delivery service. It was on time and properly placed. I was looking for an affordable compact freezer for some food storage in the garage, and this freezer fit the bill. I gotta rate it 4 stars based on a few minor complaints. Firstly I'm not a fan of the temperature control being on the bottom rear of the freezer. Requires me to pull it out to adjust the control. Kind of inconvenient so I cranked it to max and don't plan to adjust it any further. Secondly, and I hope this isn't a bad sign, it's not "whisper quiet" as advertised. It does make a humming/whistling noise and sometimes burbles. It appears to be working great but I am a little worried. Lastly, this thing has a TON of space in the interior, but only 2 shelves and a drawer. Results in perilous stacking of numerous pounds of ground beef, steaks, etc, on top of each other. I think it could have done with one more shelf in the middle. I might try to make something to make stacking easier. So my final thoughts, that don't affect my rating of the product but are worth considering when you make this purchase. The other reviewers have stated their product arrived dented. I would tell you, as a buyer, that the packaging of this freezer does indeed leave the freezer vulnerable to dents. My own freezer had a few inexplicable dents, but I simply let it sit upright for a few hours before plugging it in and it chilled right up. The thing might not look the best but it's clearly tough as nails. And don't forget that you can file a claim with the shipping company if it does get busted in shipment, so the risk is minimal. And lastly I want to say that this thing was extremely affordable when I needed one the most. It works extremely well. What more could I have asked for? If you pick one of these up for garage food storage, I truthfully don't think you'll regret it. ... show more

I have an upright ‘Side-by-Side’ refrigerator / freezer and needed more freezer space. As I plan on remodeling my kitchen in the near future, I required a unit that fits under a standard height kitchen counter and this unit meets my design criteria. When “running” the unit is very quiet and performs as one would expect, i.e., it keeps everything inside frozen. What I like the most is the freezing system. Instead of blowing cold air via a fan into the freezer compartment it has four coolant circulating tubes in a closed system. One tube is located at the top and bottom (beneath a pullout wire storage basket) of the unit and one tube is located in each of the two fixed wire rack shelves. These wire rack shelves have a top and bottom approximately 1/2” apart forming a “sandwich” (if you will) through which the coolant circulating tube runs. Because of this type system (as opposed to a fan system) there are no areas in which the items inside aren’t frozen. For the price and cubic capacity, I think it’s actually very reasonably priced when compared to other undercounted freezer units. Would I buy this item again, absolutely yes. ... show more

I love this freezer. Purchased for use in Apts. Now using as extra freezer in house. It's very quiet easy to stack food in, holds a lot. It maintains temperature very well. Light and easy to move when empty, especially for defrosting. Highly recommend!

I purchased this product because I have an elderly apartment-sized refrigerator that does not have a reliable freezer. This freezer fits my criteria for home furnishings and appliances -- namely, I can move it by myself. I am a single retiree. My grocery requirements are not huge, so this fridge should easily hold a month's worth of frozen food for me. It will enable freezing ice cubes in a tray, having ice cream, and keeping "fresh" meat and vegetables on hand, rather than relying on canned goods. It fits neatly in the spot I had planned, and it freezes items quickly and thoroughly. Since it is upright, it should be easy to clean.
