    • This is the updated drain plug. It is not the recalled units.
The Midea Air Conditioner being sold now has the correct drain plugs needed The Midea U shape air conditioners here are the same model number as the recalled machines However, the previous machines were only recalled because the old (blue) drain plug did not allow for constant drainage. The units themselves were not made defective. An owner of the Midea air conditioners had 2 choices for the recall. 1. Have new drain plugs and a level sent to them. 2 Get a refund by following the recall instructions. I chose to follow the refund instructions for 2 of my past purchases because there was mold growing in the vents of both units. I also chose to upgrade the plug for one of my newer units that I purchased a few weeks before the recall happened. This unit did not have mold growing in it. When I pulled the old plug there was a lot of water in it. I put in the new plug and it is draining properly now. ... show more

    • This model subject to RECALL - likely do not buy
THIS UNIT LIKELY SUBJECT TO RECALL! We ordered one of these in 2024, used it, really liked it. Amazon proactively sent us a recall notice in June of 2025 that the unit was recalled (mold problems), provided a link to the Midea recall info. We went through the process and got a full refund from Midea (since it is well past the Amazon return window), cut the cord, had it picked up by our town. Because we like this U shaped thing, we turned around and ordered this unit in late June 2025 to replace the other, thinking, 'Amazon would not sell us one of the recalled units.' But, by now you can guess, that is exactly what they did: When the unit arrived today (end of June 2025), before opening the box, I used the serial number on the box to check against the Midea recall web site, and it is/was a recalled unit! Amazon was great about the return (as they most always are). But save yourself the hassle and get the info on the Midea recall before you order. I searched online and the suggestion is, avoid the relevant model numbers (like this one). I hope no one ends up buying the one we just sent back! Good luck. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have been using new ac for 3 days so my opinion is good to check! It is my first time installing a U shape window AC, compared the old one, it is very quiet and cold for my studio! Also the installation is very easy and just follow the instructions to get all the details! For me another highlight is it is a smart ac which I can download the app to track the room temperature and turn it on when I am not home, so I can remote control everything easily without waiting 10-20 minutes when I get home! So so sweet of Midea, they gave me extra drains to let the water out from the machine! ... show more
