Works but I got a lemon.

I returned this unit for a refund. I gave it a 24-hour chance. After reading the manual and installing it as instructed, upon turning it on it was making a constant high-pitched rattling noise which proved to be unbearable as I slept. When I would run it on fan-only mode, the sound would disappear, hence I think it's a compressor problem even though cold air was blowing. I've owned two portable air conditioners previously (Honeywell, Black+Decker). Both worked as advertised out of the box but eventually stopped cooling after 4 and 2 years respectively. Neither ever sounded like this unit. The US Dept of Energy estimates that portable air conditioners should last 10 years. So I can't help but feel that during shipping, all the jostling (and possibly dropping) affects the rigid welded tubing or fragile compressor creating tiny leaks that slowly drains the refrigerant over time. I fear that I received a defective or damaged unit. Just my lemon theory.

Defective WiFi

I just received it yesterday and opened it today to set up. It was working smoothly until I tried to put it in AP Mode to connect it via wifi to the smart app. It wasn't working and the app couldn't even detect it. I called Midea support trying to troubleshoot it for an hour. They were even confused and just suggested I return it since the wifi feature might be defective. It was odd that Amazon didn't have the option to request a replacement. Other then that, the unit fit perfectly in my small computer room and kept it at the desired temperature in the 4 hours it was in use. It also was light weight and easy to move around. Installation was a breeze. Sadly, it looks like I will be returning it. Will probably buy again in the future.

Perfect for Hot Weather！

The timing was perfect since the weather has been very hot recently, so I was able to use it right away. Installation was quick and easy because all the parts were included and well organized. Even though the unit is compact, it does have some weight, which makes it feel solid and well-built. The cooling performance is great for a small room. I’m using it in my child’s bedroom, and it cools the space down quickly and keeps it comfortable. It runs pretty efficiently and does exactly what I needed. I also really like the design and color—it looks nice in the room. Overall, it’s a great value for the price and I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Portable AC for small rooms

We got this sleek portable AC unit for a small room to use during summer times that lacked ventilation. The unit is about table height but not too bulky and has rollers making moving a breeze especially when you need to empty the condensation water tank. It’s a huge plus that installation is simple since we will be installing/uninstalling it depending on the seasons. Foam seals were provided to help seal off gaps at the window. It does come with a remote control along with buttons on the unit for ease of use. I specifically wanted a smaller unit sized for my room which I believe this AC unit fits the bill. It provides comfortable cooling quickly and isn’t super loud during operation compared to traditional window units.

Very noisy

Very unhappy. The unit cools fine, but it is very noisy. It tones down and you think the noise vibrations go away, and you think you can get some sleep, it starts up again. The noise comes and goes. Would not recommend Midea to anyone. Thanks a lot!!!,
