I recently purchased this portable air conditioner and have been very pleased with its performance. It cools my room quickly and efficiently, even during hot summer days.     • Works but I got a lemon.

I returned this unit for a refund. I gave it a 24-hour chance. After reading the manual and installing it as instructed, upon turning it on it was making a constant high-pitched rattling noise which proved to be unbearable as I slept. When I would run it on fan-only mode, the sound would disappear, hence I think it's a compressor problem even though cold air was blowing. I've owned two portable air conditioners previously (Honeywell, Black+Decker). Both worked as advertised out of the box but eventually stopped cooling after 4 and 2 years respectively. Neither ever sounded like this unit. The US Dept of Energy estimates that portable air conditioners should last 10 years. So I can't help but feel that during shipping, all the jostling (and possibly dropping) affects the rigid welded tubing or fragile compressor creating tiny leaks that slowly drains the refrigerant over time. I fear that I received a defective or damaged unit. Just my lemon theory. ... show more

We got this sleek portable AC unit for a small room to use during summer times that lacked ventilation. The unit is about table height but not too bulky and has rollers making moving a breeze especially when you need to empty the condensation water tank. It’s a huge plus that installation is simple since we will be installing/uninstalling it depending on the seasons. Foam seals were provided to help seal off gaps at the window. It does come with a remote control along with buttons on the unit for ease of use. I specifically wanted a smaller unit sized for my room which I believe this AC unit fits the bill.
