I’m very impressed with this Midea portable air conditioner so far. It is convenient, easy to set up, and works very well. The installation was extremely simple. I wanted to test it first, so I didn’t use any tools or screws to secure the window panel, and it was still easy to install and use. The adjustable window panel is also very well designed. It can extend or shorten to fit different window sizes, and it comes with different panel pieces for additional flexibility. I also like that it can be installed either horizontally or vertically. Another feature I really appreciate is the portability. The unit has wheels, so it is very easy to move from one room to another without having to lift or carry the entire unit. The airflow is strong right from the start, and the air gets very cold. It does make some noise while running, as you would expect from a portable AC, but the cooling performance is excellent. Once the room reaches the set temperature, the unit automatically stops cooling and cycles as needed, just like a regular air conditioner. The fan speed can also be adjusted depending on your preference. The overall build quality feels solid and well made. So far, I’m very satisfied with this purchase. It’s a great option if you need an easy-to-install, portable, and effective air conditioner.

Inexpensive, easy to setup, good connectivity, pretty loud

This AC is great value for it's money, though keep in mind on the box it says $80/year added to your electricity bill. That can be pretty inaccurate depending on where you live. The app tells you how much it runs each day, so you can easily calculate the total cost for you. I'm running this in Florida, so it's running nearly 20 hours a day which is about $2/day. Much more expensive. The AC is super easy to setup. It comes ready to operate with the tube, window gaps, a short water exhaust, and some mesh and adhesive for air sealing the window. It took maybe 15 minutes to setup, though I couldn't figure out the screws, but the window gaps fit perfectly in my window as is. You hook up the hose, hook that up to the AC and window, and turn it on. The plastic on the window hose adapter is a bit cheap and the hose is pretty heavy, so you need to make sure the hose isn't pulling your window out. You can leave the water exhaust sealed by default. It takes the condensation and uses it to cool the coils and gives you a nice background water trickling ASMR. I've heard the internal tank can fill up and you have to empty it, but I've never had that happen. If you do exhaust the water, I've heard it creates a ton so be prepared to put that somewhere. Mine has its work cut out for it. It's sandwiched between 95° Florida heat from outside my window and the rest of our house my parents somehow keep at 80°. In my 130sq ft room, it's able to bring the room down to 70°!! It might even get lower at night, I'm sure after it's been on for a night or two in a row it progressively gets a little cooler. Also it's peak summer, so in a month or two it won't be fighting temps 25 degrees above it. Also it's very loud. It's really not nearly as quiet as it says. It's like having a mid-volume conversation level of sound (except white noise) in the background all the time. It's genuinely loud enough that it's so obvious when it turns on and off that I prefer to just run the fan all the time so that there's not gaps of dead silence followed by the loud fan. The app works excellently, it's "smart home" in the app store. It automatically found it with Bluetooth and I connected it to our wifi. I can control it from anywhere, even away from the house, in case I forgot to turn it off. And you can set a sleep setting, so it dynamically changes the temperature to whatever you set during an 8 hour period, though you do have to manually start it in the app or press the sleep button on the remote, it can't be scheduled. And you can turn the screen LED or sounds off if you sleep with it. Overall customizability is a 9/10, could use better routines, but significantly smarter than an AC that's just remote controlled.

Works great, just one thing to know

This portable AC works great and cools my room down quickly. The setup was pretty straightforward, and having the app and remote makes it convenient to control. One thing I wanted to point out for anyone buying it: there’s a small black drain plug/cap on the back that you need to open when draining the collected water. Just make sure you have something ready to catch the water when you do it. Overall, I’ve been really happy with it so far and wanted to mention the drain so nobody is confused when they need to empty it.

Great little AC for the price. It was easy to set up and install, and it cools the room surprisingly well. I really like being able to control it from my phone, and it’s nice having the remote as an option too. It’s definitely louder than a window unit, but that’s expected with a portable AC. Overall, I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it for a smaller room.

This is my third portable air conditioner, and I've once again chosen the well-known brand Midea. It's compact in size, cools quickly, and operates more quietly than previous models from other brands I've used. It fits perfectly in my room and offers both manual and remote control options. Installation and setup are very simple. One thing to note: you must use a bucket or container to catch the water from the drain hose. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied!

Great Air Conditioning Unit!

I did a lot of research and this is the best energy saving air conditioner with excellent performance. I had my mom and her husband help me set this up. It took us fairly an hour altogether because my mom got a bit confused with the window setup. It was an easy set up overall. Other than that, the air is so cold and crisp! I am so happy. I have been living in a very hot room with no good ventiliation so this is great. You may have to dump some water out too so make sure you prepare for a bucket for your drain hose if you dont do a continous drain hose. but I think it’s all worth it when it’s extremely hot outside and I dont feel good from the heat. So this air conditioner is amazing! There has been no leakage. I am also Deaf so the noise level doesn’t bug me. I would highly recommend this!

Its okay for a 100 sq feet room

I picked up the Midea 8,500 BTU portable air conditioner to cool a small bedroom (about 140–150 sq ft), and overall it’s been a dependable everyday unit with a few pros and cons worth mentioning. Cooling performance: For rooms around the low-150 sq ft range, this unit gets the job done. On hot days, it noticeably brings down the temperature — especially when the room isn’t baking in direct afternoon sun. It’s not instant arctic-blast cold, but within 15–30 minutes it creates a comfortably cool space that’s perfect for sleeping or working. Smart control: The smart features are genuinely convenient. I was able to connect it to my phone/voice assistant (depending on setup) pretty smoothly and adjust temp/modes without needing to be right next to the unit. That’s a nice touch for everyday use. Noise level: It’s a typical portable AC noise level — louder than a fan but quieter than most window units I’ve used. It hums consistently, and in “low” mode it’s actually quite tolerable even near a desk or bed. In “high” mode it ramps up but isn’t distracting unless you’re super sensitive to background noise. Design and setup: Setup was straightforward with the included window kit — the instructions were clear and everything fit well in a standard sliding window. The wheels make it easy to move if you want it in another room later. A few downsides: It’s not the most powerful unit out there. If your room is >>150 sq ft or gets heavy direct sun, it cools more slowly. You do have to manage the drainage a bit during very humid weather — either through the drain plug or hose, depending on how you set it up. Overall impression: This Midea portable AC hits the sweet spot for small rooms or apartments. It’s quieter and more efficient than many cheaper portable units, the smart control actually works well, and it’s simple to install. If you need strong cooling for a larger space or want whisper-quiet operation, you might look at bigger or more premium options — but for everyday comfort in a bedroom or small living area, it performed reliably for me.
