This is my second air conditioner. The first one worked great, so I bought another one. It's not very big, doesn't take up much space, and its biggest advantage is that it's easy to move around and isn't limited by window size. Installation is very simple; one person can easily set it up in half an hour. I can place it in the bedroom, study, and living room. It has small wheels at the bottom, making it easy to push. Only had the AC for 4 days but seems to be working great so far. We chose thos AC to help keep one bedroom cool without having to cool down the rest of the house. It cools quickly and quietly. Unsure why other reviews say its loud because its not. In the fan mode its louder but even that's at maybe the level of people talking, the AC on low is a whisper. The remote works well, and the AP on the phone makes it convenient to turn on/off while downstairs. Definitely would recommend this AC for the price and all B it can do. Here’s a balanced review that explains your experience while staying credible and helpful to other buyers: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) I really wanted to like this portable Midea AC because it cooled my room well when it was running. Unfortunately, after about a year, it started constantly displaying the P1 water full error, even in normal air conditioning mode. What surprised me most was how much water was trapped inside the unit. Draining it released far more water than I expected, and I later discovered that opening the upper drain cap first helps let air into the system so the lower drain can empty much more completely. Even after draining it, the P1 error kept returning much more frequently than it did during the first year of ownership. If you’re considering this unit, be aware that you’ll likely need to drain it more often than expected, especially in humid climates. It cools well, but the maintenance became frustrating enough that I wish I had chosen a different brand. Hopefully this helps other buyers know what to expect before purchasing. ... show more

I picked up the Midea 8,500 BTU portable air conditioner to cool a small bedroom (about 140–150 sq ft), and overall it’s been a dependable everyday unit with a few pros and cons worth mentioning. Cooling performance: For rooms around the low-150 sq ft range, this unit gets the job done. On hot days, it noticeably brings down the temperature — especially when the room isn’t baking in direct afternoon sun. It’s not instant arctic-blast cold, but within 15–30 minutes it creates a comfortably cool space that’s perfect for sleeping or working. Smart control: The smart features are genuinely convenient. I was able to connect it to my phone/voice assistant (depending on setup) pretty smoothly and adjust temp/modes without needing to be right next to the unit. That’s a nice touch for everyday use. Noise level: It’s a typical portable AC noise level — louder than a fan but quieter than most window units I’ve used. It hums consistently, and in “low” mode it’s actually quite tolerable even near a desk or bed. In “high” mode it ramps up but isn’t distracting unless you’re super sensitive to background noise. Design and setup: Setup was straightforward with the included window kit — the instructions were clear and everything fit well in a standard sliding window. The wheels make it easy to move if you want it in another room later. A few downsides: It’s not the most powerful unit out there. If your room is >>150 sq ft or gets heavy direct sun, it cools more slowly. You do have to manage the drainage a bit during very humid weather — either through the drain plug or hose, depending on how you set it up. I did a lot of research and this is the best energy saving air conditioner with excellent performance. I had my mom and her husband help me set this up. It took us fairly an hour altogether because my mom got a bit confused with the window setup. It was an easy set up overall. Other than that, the air is so cold and crisp! I am so happy. I have been living in a very hot room with no good ventiliation so this is great. You may have to dump some water out too so make sure you prepare for a bucket for your drain hose if you dont do a continous drain hose. but I think it’s all worth it when it’s extremely hot outside and I dont feel good from the heat. So this air conditioner is amazing! There has been no leakage. I am also Deaf so the noise level doesn’t bug me. I would highly recommend this! ... show more
