  • Quiet and very efficient
Size: 5,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
I have a 1500 sq ft basement, all usable, with concrete floor. This baby keeps the space at 50% RH no matter what the outdoor weather is. I drain it directly to the HVAC condensate pump, no monitoring and emptying the bucket I don’t use the built in pump but I could. It is exceptionally quiet. I really recommend the Midea 5500. ... show more

  • Dead in Six Months. Be ware
Size: 5,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
Purchased in August dead by February. Lasted only six months or so and then it died. The compressor stopped working. On the plus side it worked great on the minus side didn’t even last a year. I wouldn’t buy this brand again.

  • Noisy but, the other benefits outweigh it
Size: 5,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
We've had humidity issues in our home for a while and, after a water leak, finally decided to spring on the purchase of a dehumidifier. We've been using this Midea 5500 sq. ft. dehumidifier for several months now and it has performed wonderfully. During the summer months, we had it running 24/7 and it would take about 18-20 hours to fill the tank, which holds several gallons of water. It held the humidity in the space to around 45-50%. One of my biggest complaints with the unit is the fan noise. We tried it in our living space and had to raise our voice to talk over it, even on the low setting. My second complaint is that there's no fail-safe for activating the tank pump when the tubing isn't present. Unknowingly, one of the kids (11 YO) turned on the pump and it ran for 24 hours putting gallons of water onto a carpeted floor before we realized it. Fortunately it helped dry it all back out. One of the things that I do really like, compared to other dehumidifiers I've used in the past, is that the air coming out isn't HOT. It does kick out air that's a little warmer than the ambient air but, it's not blowing out hot air. Not a primary factor in my decision to purchase this model but, a consideration, was that it could be connected to my Home Assistant instance. It connected fairly easily and I can monitor/record temperature and humidity levels and control the unit. If it weren't for the noise level, I'd consider purchasing a second one for our 2-story living space. However, when this one goes, I'd happily buy an exact replacement. ... show more

  • No air filter
Size: 5,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
Hi. I did receive my Midea dehumidifier almost month ago. Working good. But when I decided to check air filter condition and found that there was no filter inside. Now I have to find such a filter and buy it. Be careful and check everything. I give two stars for deception.

  • Useful Useful
Size: 5,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
I’ve been using this Midea dehumidifier for a while now, and overall I’m pretty satisfied with it. I bought it mainly for my basement because it tends to get damp during the warmer months, and this unit has made a noticeable difference in air quality and humidity levels. The setup was straightforward, and connecting it to the app was easier than I expected. I really like being able to monitor and adjust settings remotely through my phone. The smart features, including Alexa compatibility, are a nice bonus and make daily use more convenient. The dehumidifier removes moisture efficiently and keeps the humidity at a comfortable level. The built-in pump is especially useful because I don’t have to empty the water tank manually all the time. The unit also has wheels, making it easy to move around when needed. As for noise, it’s not completely silent, but the sound level is acceptable for a basement or garage. It might be a little noticeable in a bedroom, but for my use case it’s perfectly fine. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the app occasionally takes a moment to sync, and the water tank could be slightly larger. Other than that, it performs well and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Overall, this is a solid dehumidifier with useful smart features, good moisture removal performance, and convenient drainage options. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an effective solution for basements or other humid areas in the home. ... show more

  • Works exactly as described, no issues
Size: 5,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
This thing moves so much water, it becomes overwhelming if you're not using the pump. Not too loud and does the job I need it to. Our 100-year old house is noticeably less musty smelling after a month with this thing running 24/7.

  • Uncomfortably Noisy
Size: 5,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump - WiFi
The volume of this unit is uncomfortably loud. There are only 2 speed settings (Low and Turbo); both of which will make you double your tv volume in the room, or more. It is as noisy as standing outside next to a window air conditioning unit or outdoor Condensor. This unit is replacing my 50/70pt Hisense Dehumidifier after the common E9 Humidity Sensor issue replacement failed. However, the sound on my former Hisense unit could barely be noticed when operating. ONLY buy this Midea unit if you plan to place it in an area where you are not concerned about noise. Plus, with 55% humidity levels in the room, it will run near continuous (only auto stopping for about 2min or so) trying to get to 50%. It fills the bucket up in about 8hrs, so if you can’t drain it outside, be prepared to change the units bucket about 3x per day. ... show more
