This works so much better than the one I bought few months ago & moved to guest room. The window fitting fits my huge window & cools our large bedroom. Our bed is high & the air blows up from top so doesn't get blocked & we slept so good I got cold. Great purchase

Cools adequately for a 200 sq. foot room, but it's SUPER-NOISY. I can't get any work done with the buzzing racket it generates. Midea says it operates at 50 decibels. UNTRUE. When the compressor's on, I measured the sound output at 67 decibels, which means you have to shout to be heard over it. I'll try their inverter unit, which supposedly is four times quieter, but this one's ridiculous.

Too loud for the bedroom

Purchased on Saturday received on Sunday (thank you Amazon) Spent one hour configuring for my RV window in order to cool my bedroom - it seems to cool the space very quickly. I purchased this product because a friend of mine uses this model and has for a year/ raves about it. Now for the bummer: same day I plugged it in - all I can guess is someone dropped it before I got it? No scratches and set up was a breeze but this thing sounds like a lawnmower! I requested a replacement and I’ll update once I get it. Amazon has been great and I’m a bit worried because this is a significant investment for me. I’ll include photo/ video… according to my decibel meter it is currently running at 67.1 decibels… for comparison my generator runs at 80 and thankfully my generator isn’t kept in my bedroom ;-) Update: replacement received and installed - I wish there was a way to turn off the lights for bedtime. It’s not as noisy but still wouldn’t have chosen this model for a bedroom had I realized how bright and loud it operates. I would suggest another model. I wouldn’t buy this again but I’m in too deep now.

Flawed in my opinion.

I purchased this due to it's high BTU rating(14000), as I live upstairs in an open loft. While it blows cold, as they all do, my complaint is the flap that controls air flow. I can't seem to find the "sweet spot" where I can feel the air throughout the day/night. What a goofy design. Why would the air flap that oscillates up and down, fully open to blow air directly up? I suppose that would make sense for a unit that is placed on a first floor and would be reasonable to want air reaching up to higher floors? Of course, you can set the air control flap to move or remain stationary, but I cannot feel the air, it seems to vanish within feet of walking away from it. Furthermore, this unit struggles to maintain 75 degrees in the room, while on high. Although, I do live in a humid climate. I have a 5 gallon bucket that constantly needs emptying every morning and evening. I'd definitely recommend a massive catch pan with the condensation hose hooked up at all times to prevent mold growth. Lastly, the opening where the air blows through, is sealed plastic on one side and so the air is only blowing out of half the air port. Makes little sense, but I'm not an engineer. (Picture included) of the vent opening only have an air port open on the left side.. The remote isn't too responsive, either or reactive. There's a tiny icon on the display screen of the remote that I assume tells when the remote is on/off. I've had a Delonghi (10000 BTUs) for 22 years! And it was less BTUs, in the same room and worked just fine until the motor crapped out. Noise level is actually decent and about the same as old 10000 BTU unit. Coming back to this review a few months later. It's still working just fine. I forgot to mention, in my opinion, the biggest flaw. When turned on, the air flap defaults to point straight up and stays in that position! If you turn it on in a hurry, and walk away, for instance, it's going to blow the air directly straight into the sky! It doesn't even move up and down when turned on. You must set it to either move and fan up and down or set it to where you think it's suitable for good air movement and stop it. Goofy!
