Looks new with the recall fix placed in box, these are redesigned rubber plugs that were easy to replace. Installing the window mounting bracket was easy despite the instructions small print and confusing dialog, there is likely a video online if you get frustrated. Quick cooling, Quiet, easy to use with remote. Power consumption is great, it hasn't gotten hot outside yet but I suspect it will cost less to cool my room than it did to heat it last winter with an electric heater. i went so far as to install the Midea app on my phone but it forces you to create an account if you want to use it. ... show more

Worth the time and effort to save $150 off a brand new one though. I ordered 2 of these at exactly the same time and got 2 different boxes with different equipment and remotes. One AC has a nice remote but the side was all smashed in. The other had a junky remote but was in good condition with a worse bracket than the first one. The directions are almost nonsensical with pieces not being in them. The biggest problem is that the units seem to be really quiet and amazingly cool, everything else about the process is a mess though. ... show more

If you are able to, buy the refurbished model. It’s still just as good as the new one but half the price. I will say, this was the most difficult/complicated air conditioner I have ever had to install, but for how quiet it is, it makes up for it. It’s also pretty cool that you can open your window after it’s installed. ... show more

    • Not repaired as per the recall
As others have noted, the unit I received had 2 blue plugs on the bottom, and therefore has not been fixed as per the recall. My assumption was that these units would have all been returned because of this recall and issue, and it seems extremely irresponsible to sell them as refurbished without addressing the issue, especially when it's just a matter of replacing a rubber plug. I have been searching for how to acquire the replacement plugs but have not been able to find a solution. ... show more

There is SLIGHTLY CRACKS and SCRATCHES on top though it doesn’t prevent cooling performance. Installation is easy. Noise level is minimal.

Installation was reasonably easy. I suggest watching the Midea installation video on YouTube since it is a lot clearer then the installation manual. The noise level is truly impressive. Orders of magnitude quieter then my previous air conditioner that was only around 6,000 btus. The foam insulation is sufficient for the job so I didn't need to order any more. It came with the replacement black plugs to replace the blue one. ... show more
