I am so happy with this Midea Portable AC. It is a lifesaver for the most recent heatwave. It cooled down my hot bedroom from 86f to 72f in 30 mins. It came with exhaust hose and window brackets and no extra drilling is needed. I can set it up easily and in few minutes. Also, I like the smart feature it has. I can control when on my way home. First item I received was used, dirty, and a broken wheel. I'm guessing someone returned it, and they resold it at Amazon or the seller or whatever. I had to return that. Annoying. Second one received appeared new. I like the design of the unit, got it installed and everything works EXCEPT the AC barely gets cold. It gets somewhat cold for a bit, but nothing like a regular AC. And then even when it's NOT on auto it turns off the AC often and it's just running the fan. I don't know if it's trying to recharge, take a break, or if it's thinking it reached the temperature. I put the temperature on lowest it can go which is 60, and then put the fan on high. And it still turns off all the time. Way too frequently. And like I said, it barely even gets cold. My TCL window unit did WAY better than this. This is a poorly designed poor excuse for an AC. Waste of time. ... show more

This air conditioner was very easy to set up. It’s also quite compact in size which is nice. Something I really like about it is the app. I can turn the AC on when I’m about to come back home so I can come back to a cooled room. The filters are all also easily removable and cleaned. Furthermore, the design of the air outlet allows me to open my windows when I want fresh air. It cools down the room quite fast which is also a plus. Also, I’m able to program a temperature setting schedule for sleeping, which helps since I like it colder when I sleep, and warmer when I wake up. Overall this AC has enabled better sleep and sanity throughout my life. ... show more

    • Window kit is annoying.

** Update. Midea customer support contacted me and they were very receptive to suggestions regarding the window kit and reimbursed me for the parts that I bought to make the universal window kit work. Excellent customer service. Upped to 4 stars for that reason Window kit is problematic. Nice clips on the ends of the exhaust tube are great, but the window insert is terrible. It comes in several pieces that aren't the same width, don't securely hold together (I had to drill some holes ans use screws to keep it from collapsing on itself). Once in the window there are multiple gaps between the sliding window and the insert. I shoved a bunch of the insulation straps that they include, but it still looks weird. I was able to adapt an older universal window kit for this AC which worked a lot better. The AC itself works well. For our bedroom, it quickly cools the room, making it easier to sleep on hot nights. ... show more

It was an emergency & we got it a day early. I have a similar set up upstairs so it was easy to set it up. I'm confused why a 10K BTU only covers 300 ft. while my 8K BTU covers 350 ft. But my main concern is the buckling on the side that was repaired (?) by tape. I'm not sure how that will affect the product in the long run. ... show more

Only cools the space directly in front of you. I live in Southern California where its 95+ degrees everyday in the summer so this doesn’t work for me. Its also really loud. Will be returning.

It makes the summer comfortable, the setup is relatively straightforward, it provides window panel with pre-cut hole, it needs a few mins to it all lined up. The machine is strong, the cold air comes out fast and powerful, really make a difference, love it.
