  • Surface Studio (1st Gen)
Style: i7 32GB 2 TB
Overall, the unit is built well, the internals are very sub-par. It's like they took parts from a cheap laptop and paired it with a high end touch screen monitor. The unit is way over priced, and when the Surface studio 2 arrived a few months later, Microsoft would not even offer a trade in value on my unit. I would not recommend buying this as there are cheaper units (Dell Canvas 27) that can do the same thing, but attached to your own computer. ... show more

  • Great screen. Good enough for drawing. Slow hard drive.
Style: i7 32GB 2 TB
Very powerful, one-of-a kind computer. The drawing experience is great due to such a large, crisp screen, and a reasonably accurate pen. Unfortunately, the built-in hard drive is really slow, but it can easily be fixed by installing an SSD. Pen Accuracy: The surface studio 1 has a pen jitter problem. If you are trying to draw a picture, your lines will be wobbly, even if you use a ruler. This jitter is visible when drawing at normal speed. You WILL have to enable software smoothing in order to get rid of the jitter (clip studio has the best software smoother). The downside is that it introduces some pen lag, making it harder to do detailed line work. These days, I prefer to do all line work on my IPad Pro -- the apple pencil has zero lag and zero jitter. However, surface studio is far preferred for digital painting, given the large screen and fairly accurate pen. Unless you are doing line work, you will not notice the pen jitter. Slow Hard Drive: One hour after I booted up the computer for the first time, the entire system locked up and froze. Disk usage was stuck at 100% for several more hours, and I had to reboot the computer to unfreeze everything. The following day, I replaced the 2TB fusion drive with the SSD from my old laptop. Now, everything is very fast. Installing an SSD and re-installing windows takes about 3 hours. The online instructions are very good. Google search "cesardelatorre surface studio ssd". ... show more

  • Very happy
Style: i5 8GB 1TB
I love this machine. It sometimes chokes on Photoshop or Illustrator, which is really unfortunate, but overall its functional and comfortable. the i7 is quiet a bit more but could be worth it for video editing. 3 weeks after i purchased this machine the card reader failed. that was a disappointment.

  • Useless
Style: i7 32GB 2 TB
This thing is a mixed bag. When it works - it's pretty nice. Although I've only own it for about 11 months and 3 times now it has hit these crazy slow-downs where even restarting becomes a scary troubling LONG process. It just sits and spins. It does an Automatic Repair until it errors and restarts, only to stall in a loop again. It's a nightmare. The touch screen works great and the screen looks amazing. It's annoying when the onscreen keyboard comes up when you're trying to type using the keyboard... it just slides things around on screen in a crazy way. The keyboard sometimes doesn't reconnect when you wake the machine up or switch users. You literally have to take the batteries out and put them back in for it to reconnect. And the screen positioning. It's cool that you can lift it. And that you can fold it down. But unlike the Microsoft Surface Pro tablets.... this can't go at any preferred angle you want. As it rises up or drops down the angle changes along with the height by force. You can't lift it up and then angle it. It angles as it drops. It's a little odd. I also still think a Wacom surface is better to draw on than glass. When it works it's fun. It's terrible they don't have spec options above 32gb of RAM. It's been very problematic just being a usable OS, I suppose. I'm waiting on a 2 hour attempt to get it to boot right now. UPDATE: I ended up doing a full reset, complete wipe of the machine. It took all night to do. Set up was slow. When the OS finally came up it is incomplete and unresponsive. I can't pull open the windows menu, nothing. Slick design. Terrible product. Never had a computer incapable of working decent after a full factory reset. This isn't even 1 year old since it's purchase. Piece of crap. UPDATE: Yep. Wiped the entire machine. It is dead. 2 machines in 2 years died. Obviously this is a microsoft problem with how they made these things. I like my Surface. But I won't buy a Microsoft machine ever again at this point. ... show more

  • Fantastic. An amazing machine.
Style: i7 16GB 1TB
Productivity monster for photo editing. Just make sure you're using fast external drives so you can keep the speed allocated to the monitor, and not processing files out to slow devices. I do believe that may be an issue others are experiencing. I've listed the sRGB and Adobe RGB color spectrum as per my Spyder 5. 100% sRGB and 89% Adobe RGB is pretty dang impressive!! ... show more

  • Lovely good as new pc just need to get a European power converter if buying for Europe.
Style: i5 8GB 1TB
Great customer care and very fast delivery to Italy, only problem I have is that the power cable needs a converter as surface studio was never brought out in Europe (to my knowledge) it works with a normal adapter but I don’t think this can be used as a permanent fix

  • NOT WORTH THE MONEY
Style: i7 32GB 2 TB
I would have giving a 5 star for value but for the price I expected to get a CD drive and a hdmi plug that works not have to buy extra USB adapter components to make HDMI work to cluder up my desk
