  • Great bargain
Size: 8 GB Ram, 128 GB Style: Tablet Only
Needed a windows based tablet and this does just what I need it to do. It looks and performs like new!

  • Received quickly and safely
I was nervous at first since I've never ordered a device like this from amazon especially a refurbished one. I saw the price for this16gb RAM and 256gb storage versus the one straight from Microsoft and had to get this one. It's great. There were some problems though that the seller already knew and let me know before receiving the device such as incompatibility issues with the software. The surface pro x is an arm64 device which can run apps if they are made for ARM processors (like the SQ1) or if they are 32 bit since the pro x can do 32bit emulation on windows 10. Windows 11 changed it completely, you can now run 64 bit apps, frankly which are widely available versus 32 bit apps meaning even more work. Some apps still do not work but those are far and few between when compared to windows 10. Aside from software, hardware is excellent. I'd definitely recommend purchasing one since it can be updated to windows 11. ... show more

  • Awesome
Size: 8 GB Ram, 256 GB Style: Tablet Only
Understand that this is an arm processor powered computer and that it will not work with every standard windows program however with that in mind this is an amazing machine that has so much potential for so many use cases. Truly a jack of all trades i.e while it is not perfect in everything it can do, it is very versatile. Definitely a buy ... show more

  • The hardware worked fine. THE SOFTWARE SUCKS (Windows 10)
Size: 8 GB Ram, 256 GB Style: Tablet Only
what good is it to pay $800 (refurb) for the top of the line Surface Pro X if it is laden with cascading errors from Edge that takes over the tablet and won't let you get to the error screens to read them and correct the problem? Something about MS Edge not closing properly, who knows, as brilliant (NOT) Win10 flashes the errors for less than a second then brings up the HOME screen of wonder. And so this not only prevented use of Edge, but prevented calling up PDF files, prevented CHAT button from working, and prevented Chrome also. And then after hours online with MS Support pro, she had no answer for me, came up with nothing other than reset the computer. THEN, couldn't reset because I did not have the shizzle-dizzle 892 character code... so what is left for me to do but return the tablet for refund? I will buy a Samsung tablet for same price, looks like that Android tablet will WORK. WORK, a concept Microsoft might want to look up in Wikepedia. ... show more

  • Beautiful hardware, but Windows is still not quite ideal for use as a tablet
Size: 8 GB Ram, 128 GB Style: Tablet Only
This is a beautiful device that looks and feels incredibly high quality. Seriously, I think this is the nicest tablet ever produced. Of course, Windows is still an asterisk. I love Windows and prefer it over all else because it's unmatched for productivity and gaming on desktops/laptops, but unless you're using your tablet like a laptop, Windows still lags behind Apple and even Android for tablet user-friendliness and casual media/app consumption. Unfortunately, Windows 11 so far actually seems like a downgrade in this department as I couldn't find a Tablet Mode like in Windows 10. But they're working hard on their screen-device appeal and I think they'll get there. This is somewhat compromised versus competitors on the software front, but man, what a beautiful piece of hardware. It's difficult not to like, and I think tons of people will be absolute thrilled with it. A couple notable points about this device: 1) Mine came with the previous owner's account still present. I was unable to make a new account, and couldn't even recover/reset the device due to Bit Locker. A Windows ISO would be needed to install on a flash drive (remember, this only has USB C, so you'll either need a C flash drive, or an adapter). Unfortunately, for some ridiculous reason, Microsoft doesn't let you download the ARM ISO.. I really thought this device was unusable at this point. I reached out to Microsoft Support and after an hour with them helping to figure out a solution, they directed me to Microsoft's Surface support site where you can download a recovery image after inputting your device serial number. That's the ticket. Either it's not obvious on their site, or I'm just an inattentive idiot. At least I can say the Microsoft tech support guy was stumped at first and sought advice from someone higher up lol. Either way, if you run into this, I hope this little anecdote saves you some time and stress. 2) For the first day or two after doing a fresh install of Windows, the device was unbearably slow. I couldn't even listen to Spotify without it stuttering. Fortunately, after everything in the background was updated and sorted, it became a reasonably snappy device. Good for the price when it was new? Absolutely not. But I'd compare its performance to a $3-400 Android tablet. That is to say, it won't blow you away, but it should be perfectly serviceable as a casual mobile device for on the go. 3) Know that Windows ARM is not the same as normal Windows. It'll look and feel like it, but there are huge differences under the hood that affect how fast certain types of apps/programs run. If you stick to apps downloaded through the Windows store (or Amazon App Store, where you'll find Android apps), it'll do well (all of my apps were available as I use this very casually). Programs downloaded for Windows through your web browser, exe etc? It's probably going to chug, and you'd be better off with any of the other Surface models. It's hard to say whether or not I recommend this device. I can thoroughly recommend Surface devices in general, but I think Windows ARM is still in its infancy and will need some time to become truly good. And Windows in general does still have some work to do in terms of rivaling Apple for the tablet experience. If you know you like Windows and would take advantage of its productivity advantages, I'd say go for a non-ARM Surface instead. If the Android apps are appealing to you, but you want to stick with Windows, this is for you. But if you want Android apps and don't care if it's running on Windows, you can get better performance and user friendliness elsewhere (but not as nice of overall quality--this is the pinnacle in that regard!). ... show more

  • Most dependable hybrid laptop
Size: 8 GB Ram, 128 GB Style: Tablet Only
I have always loved owning a Surface Tablet, I had one stolen out of my vehicle and later went and bought another one, I sold this second one and now I own this one. This model of the Surfaces is LTE enabled which is honestly one of the best decisions I have made as a commuter college student who likes to spend time outdoors. With the right kind of defender case I can take this device anywhere. There are a lot of reviews about this not being a laptop honestly I was not looking for a laptop I was looking for something in between. This is the best option for anyone who needs something light, and efficient that still packs a punch. ... show more

  • Windows on ARM is terrible
Size: 8 GB Ram, 128 GB Style: Tablet Only
Beautiful device. Probably the nicest build of an electronic I've ever owned. Windows on ARM can now run 64bit applications via emulation. However, many applications don't run and the ones that do are sluggish or unresponsive. If you know you can live with only what's in the windows app store and made for ARM processor, then it might be ok. If you're expecting to use it like any other windows machine, you're going to be disappointed. ... show more
