If I placed this refurbished Surface Pro X (SPX) next to a brand-new one, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The SPX came in excellent packaging for a refurbished product. The packaging was a plain cardboard box, sealed very well. Inside the box, the SPX was inside a protective sleeve made of some kind of foam-fabric hybrid material that protected the device. The sleeved device was situated in a form-fitted insert inside the box, much like where a new cell phone would sit when you open the box for the first time. My device came with a charger that has a metallic silver sticker with the Windows logo on it. My device was not charged upon arrival, so I threw on the charger and let it sit for 30 minutes before I turned it on for the first time. After allowing it to charge for a bit, it booted up quickly to Windows 11! Worked like a brand-new laptop. So, the charger worked and the device came with a fresh legitimate copy of Windows 11. The screen had zero scratches or blemishes, even upon close inspection rather than 12" or arms-length. The body and frame of the device also were completely free of defects. Like I said before, I couldn't tell it apart from a new device. I purchased the Signature Keyboard and Pen and I am typing this review now with the keyboard. The pen works flawlessly on the screen as well. Keyboard connection port and Windows Pen functionality are verified to work. My only advice - be aware that the SPX uses SQ1/SQ2 processors (also named ARM64), and may not be compatible with the software you plan to use. I knew I really only needed Microsoft Office Suite, Webex, and Zoom to function for my wife to do her work. I was able to do some research on the software I needed to work on the SPX before purchasing to make sure the software was at least compatible, if not having a dedicated version for ARM64 processors. I've since installed all aforementioned software and verified that all function properly. If software compatibility is a concern for you, check out the Surface Pro 8 Intel i5/7 16GB 256GB. This computer will not have the software concerns, but has the most comparable specs to this SPX 16GB 256GB. The only drawback is the $200 difference in the refurbished price, at the time of this writing. Hopefully this helps! * The surface pro x arrived properly packed with the accessories and looks brand new. There are no blemishes or other issues I have noticed. For the price, this is unbeatable. * Delivery was prompt and the price was fantastic * The Surface Pro X is still the best Surface product Microsoft has made. I wish they would have stuck with this form factor for the ARM based models instead of deviating with the Surface Pro 9. This thing is extremely light and easy to carry around, the surface keyboard with pen (ordered separately) works flawlessly and ensures you have options for note taking, the battery life has been good, the screen is excellent with very good clarify and brightness, there are no heat issues or fans to worry about, the performance is adequate for most tasks especially if you are running ARM native apps, Windows ARM support has improved leaps and bounds. Using for: * MS Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc. * Note taking * Programming with Visual Studio 2022 for ARM and Visual Studio Code (works surprisingly well) * Some gaming, works fine for MIneCraft and older steam games like Half Life 2. It runs Half-life incredibly well considering it is having to emulate x86 to run it. * General web consumption ... show more
