  • Great For kids , but much better quality
I Will start with the only negative that I have is that it only comes with two blank slides. Not even enough to consider removing a star. It was easy to assemble. My daughter was able to do it all herself , and she's seven. She's been having a great time checking out different things with the With the pre made slides. Bringing stuff in.... Quality of the image is actually great. We haven't done too much with the tech side of it more just looking at it. It'S metal and not plastic and oh my god does that matter ... show more

  • Perfect for Homeschoolers
I am so pleased. I got this for my homeschooler's science needs. It works so well! The clarity of the microscope is impeccable, it's so easy to use and focus, I love the viewer. I had been warned that sometimes viewers can really lose clarity over looking straight through the lens, but I'm very happy with the level of detail. I'm stunned I was able to get this level of quality for the price, I had expected to spend much more money. ... show more

  • For price, a good value For price, a good value
Color: White
Overall, this microscope (we bought the A option) is a good value based on the price. It feels like a quality product, not just cheap plastic. The lenses provided are clear and provide surprisingly good magnification. The instructions are horrible, though. They don't really explain how to setup or use the microscope, or clearly identify each piece and how it works (or when to use it). Still, it's easy to figure out after some trial and error. I do want to specifically flag something that made me thought hours was broken. Out of the box the LED light for our unit was out of battery. When we went to plug it in the light turned on. The instructions make clear in several places that when the unit is charging you are not supposed to use the light. There is a little wheel on the light to turn it off and make it dimmer or brighter. No matter what I did the light stayed on. I assumed ours was broken. When we came back later the light was off. And I realized that when you plug in the unit to charge it, the light turns (but dim) and then turns off to let you know it is charged. Again, this is something that would have been very helpful in the instructions considering how many times the instructions emphasize not to use the light when it is charging. I am attaching photos showing the light in low power mode when charging versus when the unit is charged and you actually turn the light on. We bought a separate lot of prepared slides and my son is really enjoying the microscope. ... show more

  • Worth the money
It's an amazing microscope. I had to fix the long lens. It wasn't working so I took it apart and put it back together, that fixed the problem. But it takes a bit to get used to. But it's a perfect amazing must have. I got it to see blood samples, I'm a novice so idk what I am doing. But I need to look at blood samples from my animals and see what's killing them. But I need to buy a more expensive one to see perfectly what I need to see. ... show more

  • Great for your little scientist
This purchase was for my 8yr old who is extremely into all things science. It works wonderfully, we viewed the stipps it came with and made our own with fingernails, dirt, human skin etc and the things you cam see are pretty amazing. Its fun to use and well made.

  • Great for beginners Great for beginners
I bought this as a new person to using a microscope, but this kit had it all, it had slides to look at, different magnifications, accessories to collect samples, and my favorite part, the screen that it has, it is not a high quality screen like your phone, but it’s good enough to see many fine details, overall, this was a great purchase and I will definitely recommend ... show more

  • Decent starter microscope for the price, but feels cheap and missing a few things
Color: White
I bought this 40X-2000X microscope mainly for my kids (and a little for myself) to look at slides, bugs, and plant samples. The magnification range is impressive for the money — we can actually see cells and tiny details pretty clearly, and the phone adapter works well enough to take decent photos and videos through the eyepiece. That said, the overall build quality definitely feels cheap. Lots of lightweight plastic, the focus knobs are a little stiff and not very smooth, and the stage feels flimsy. It’s fine for light use, but I wouldn’t trust it for anything heavy or long-term. The instructions are also pretty unclear. They’re poorly translated, skip important steps, and don’t explain how to use the different objective lenses or the phone adapter very well. We had to figure most of it out by watching YouTube videos. Biggest disappointment: it was supposed to come with extra sample slides/plates (the listing shows several prepared slides and blank ones) but ours only had the basic 3-4 that were already in the box. No extras at all, which is annoying when you’re trying to do experiments with kids. For the low price, it’s an okay entry-level microscope that gets the job done for casual home use. If you’re okay with some plastic feel, unclear manual, and fewer accessories than advertised, it’s acceptable. But if you want something that feels more solid or comes fully loaded, spend a bit more. ... show more
