We needed a microscope for our homeschool biology class. I chose this particular model microscope based on the higher max magnification as well as the cell phone holder feature. Compared to other models, this was a good value for features provided. I was a little disappointed the cell phone mount couldn't be used completely hands-free. When I add the mount to the microscope, the weight of the cell phone angles the viewer and gets the border in the way. You have to hold it in place to get a clear picture. It's still a really cool feature and worthwhile! The microscope came with slides and the supplies to make your own slifes with cover slips and even a small blade to cut a slice of something for your slide. The microscope is well padded with a foam crate but comes with a basic polyester fabric tote bag - the same type of material used for reusable shopping bags. I would have liked a box to carry it in instead. I decided to throw away the basic cardboard outer box because i figured it would be annoying to slide it in and out each use. I did keep it in the foam crate and rubber banded the side of the foam to mskr it like a lid. We are currently using thr tote bag too because i don't have a better option yet. Quality of the lower level magnification is fantastic! Once you get to the highest magnification it is a little blurry on the edges but considering what it does for the price I paid, I will take it! It can be plugged in or use batteries for convenience. I would absolutely purchase this again. I wish I had bought it 2 years ago when my oldest went through the same class. I'll be glad to have it when my younger kid goes through the class too.

My 8 year old niece loves it. She uses the Petri dish included to start her own cultures. The accessories included really helped draw her interest. Very easy to set up and a great price for the quality. I love that you can use your phone with it for pictures and videos. The magnification is perfect for someone new to studying microorganisms. Easy to use is features as it is very intuitive. Works just as described.
