I modified this stand to attach to my desk. I have a rode podmic XLR but it was too heavy (with my extension Poles) for the pivot to hold. So what I did was unscrew the pivot knob, take out the bottom pole and rubber pads, then used pliers to squish the metal prongs together to make it tighter. Then I re installed it. It did make it much tighter but still not tight enough for my use case. You can also use a counter weight which will help. But what I had to do was drill a hole all the way through the pivot plates and put a pin in it to keep it from sagging. You could also drill multiple holes for multiple different positions. My main complaint is the small diameter extension pole on the T pivot. It's much too weak and will bend easily for anything over 2lbs. I really like the all metal base, though the legs are not stable for full extension. You will need to weight it down. Overall I for the price of $25 I would recommend it, especially if you plan to modify it like I did. There are many of these stands on Amazon and they are mostly all the same from the same manufacturer but with minor differences. Most have a plastic or thin metal base but this one has a cast aluminum alloy base. Also it has knobs instead of Clamp things to tight the Poles which I prefer.

I was looking for another boom mic stand for my studio and that is what I selected. I got it because it did come with the additional holder for a phone/tablet. The stand is pretty sturdy. It is holding one of my lighter guitar mics without much of a problem. When I put my tablet on the mount it does stay put, but starts to become a little shaky. Now I am using a 12.4 " tablet that is heavy and has a case on it so I really can't complain. When I used my smaller 9" tablet without a case, it had no problem. Because of the way it is made you can raise it up prtty high and set it pretty low too. Overall I like it and it will work well in the studio. I probably would not take it on the road because it isn't that sturdy.

This multipurpose multimedia and microphone stand arrived in a custom box. Within the box was a nice handled case that contained a variety of components and an instruction sheet. The stand was easy to assemble. It's adjustable and can be configured to a variety of heights and positions suitable for sitting, standing and covering gear in different configurations. Attachments are included for different mic types along with tablets/iPads. You can, of course, use your own adapters with it, as well. The stand includes a boom arm in addition to a gooseneck, which is nice if you'd like to record vocals and an instrument together or, say, capture different instruments, stereo sound, multiple drum components, or refer to notation and/or lyrics while performing (or even monitor a video recording). There are a lot of possibilities. The case and all of the components are attractive, well-made and sturdy. When set up properly, the stand is solid and I encountered no wobble. I'm looking forward to getting a lot of use from this stand for years to come. All in all, I'm happy with this stand. Should my experience with it change in the future, I'll update the review.

We have a son that is beginning guitar at school and this was just the ticket to get him excited for his tomorrow class. I let him set the whole thing up and it was a breeze. He's an early teen and had fun putting this together. The pictures and instructions made it simple to follow along. The material throughout is sturdy and built to last. The stand is stable all around. Connections tighten and loosen easily but remain in place when you want them to be. The tablet and phone brackets adjust to the JUST the right height. The mic holders are just the right size and because there are two types you shouldn't have any issues using any size or style mic. Recommendation: Buy this versatile and well built musician stand for home or studio, or even live performance! Just do it!

This mic stand was a pleasant surprise. It is lightweight but sturdy. Adjustability is really good. Nicely made. Joints are mostly plastic, but so far are pretty solid. We'll see how it holds up over time. I have been using it to hold 2 small diaphragm condenser mics (double mount not included) to mic an acoustic guitar. It handles that very well. The included bag is much better than expected. It's thick and with the exception of the attached strap seems heavy duty. You can get the folded stand in it by only removing the top section. No need to completely disassemble the stand. The gooseneck for holding a tablet is OK. Large heavier tablets can be a little wonky. The 7" I am currently using works great. I think this is a good value.
