This is a great mic stand for the edge of the desk. It holds my Blue Yeti USB mic steady and stays where I put it. I can move it out of the way when I need to. It does not transmit my typing or banging around on the table I use for a "desk" and the recordings I make and the audio calls or meetings seem very good quality. I put the pop filter on which was easy to do, but I really never had an issue with that from my yeti anyway. But it comes with it and you can still see the mute lite/button so ... maybe it helps. It comes with cable management velcro ties which I haven't used and well as a windscreen but haven't needed that either. It also comes with mounting attachments for a number of different Blue mics, but the only one I have used is the Yeti. The upper tensioning arm has two different places to attach the springs for different tensions So you need to know this is a small with a maximum extension of about 29~30 inches. If used that way you would best have the mic pointing up (easy to do). The maximum hight is about the same If you need this to go over a large monitor or larger mixing board you might want a larger one. It works really well at the edge of my desk. I can get it the mic out of the way or pull it over when I want it close mic it and I don't have the mic taking room on desk (which usual has 4 or 5 computers on it at the same time ... so reducing anything on my physical desk top is a help.) I find this really useful. The yeti stays put and the stand doesn't transmit vibrations from the desk. It seems really well made and stays attached to the desk. This is a decent mic stand that, with the included extras, is difficult to knock at $20. If this is your first boom arm, you'll be experimenting with different positions and should be aware the aluminum threads can be easy to strip. You don't need to baby it, just take your time. Additionally, if you've got a Snowball mic, the included optional mic clip also fits the Snowball's tripod in the event you need multiple mics. ... show more

Reason for purchase: I own the Blue Yeti microphone and use it for recording and video conferencing and wanted a boom mic stand that made the microphone more convenient and flexible than the desktop stand that is included with the microphone. Good: • Functionality: this mic stand does what it says it will do. The Blue Yeti microphone fits well and easily in the stand with appropriate screw adapter. The stand is sturdy and easy to move around and lock into position as needed. • Features: the boom mic attaches sturdily to a desktop edge with a broad surfaced screw clamp. The included accessories will turn your mic into a studio quality set up. The adaptors, mic cap, pop screen, and thoughtful hook & loop straps enable you to mount and manage your microphone in a protected manner. The microphone is safely mounted with screw locks to set the stands various positions, the USB wire can be attached to the jointed arms of the stand to keep in out of the way, and the spring tension of the microphone is sufficient to handle the weight. • Quality: the square metal tubing that makes up the jointed boom arms seems to be a relatively thick aluminum which is powder-coated and should withstand most light scratches. The tension springs are also black and come mounted to the boom stand. The desktop clamp is plastic and metal but should do the job. It could be broken if one accidentally hit the boom hard enough. All other fasteners and tension screws are metal with tension screws having plastic handles. Value: the price at the time of purchase was $24.99. This seems very reasonable for what you receive. This boom microphone stand gives you everything you would need for a quality desktop mounted recording or audio use with various mic set-ups.     • Makes my Yeti useful again
I'd stopped using my Yeti a while back preferring mics that gave me a bit more control, especially for making videos. But I still love the ease of its USB connection that syncs with my computer camera without any delay, and I like the sound I get from the Yeti when on video calls. I added my own Blue Yeti shock mount to eliminate noise from the stand itself, so I'm quite satisfied. The springs are strong enough to hold the heavy mic in place without sagging, so in all, I'm quite happy with it. ... show more
