This Micro Center bundle served as the perfect foundation for my local LLM build. The Core Ultra 7 265K is a powerhouse, providing the necessary performance for rapid RAG support and document indexing. I've paired it with a used EVGA FTW3 Ultra GeForce RTX 3090 24GB, which offers exceptional value and performance for the price. The system runs flawlessly on Ubuntu after a quick BIOS tweak to set the RAM speed. I have it housed in our IT room and access it remotely for all my offline work. For memory, I'm using 64GB of Patriot Viper Elite 5 DDR5 RAM (6400MT/s, CL32), and storage is handled by a Crucial T500 2TB Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD for fast data access. The build is powered by a Corsair RM1000e and cooled efficiently by a Thermalright FW240 Black CPU Water Cooler, all neatly housed in an NZXT H5 Flow case. The motherboard's integrated 2.5 Gb/s NIC is a great bonus for future network speeds.

So far rock solid setup. Everyone is talking about the other chip manufacturer but I’ve never been let down with Intel. It’s so much faster than my old 10th gen i5 it’s not even funny. I see benchmarks comparing it to the 9800x3d and that is a bit faster but also costs just the chip about what this combo costs. Overall I’m very happy with my choice, especially for the price.
