My 15-yr-old wanted LED light strips for his b-day. I looked at TONS and read all the reviews, and went with these ones... and he (and I) couldn’t be happier! High quality, excellent packaging, good instructions. The remote control is cool, but there’s even more customizable colors etc if you download the app and control them through your phone. These also have multiple music sync options (so they change to the beat of the music). Very cool, very satisfied. I hung his along the top of his wall, where it meets the ceiling. Tips: (1) realize these are two sets but they start from the same corner—they don’t plug into each other “end-to-end” like Christmas lights, you have to pick your starting corner and then run one 25-foot section one direction, and the other 25-foot section the other (see photo). (2) I removed the adhesive/sticky backing and applied them to the top of the wall, and not the ceiling... then I tacked in clear thumbtacks every two feet underneath the strip (not through the strip!) for added support (see photo). (3) we had overlap at the ends, where the two strands meet. You can cut off the excess, but I just laid one strand directly over the top of the other (he didn’t want to cut them in case he wanted to move them later). We had no issues at all with overlapping like that—visually, you can’t even tell (see photo). So... overall, very satisfied! In fact, his older brother took one look at how cool it turned out and decided to order some for his room as well! ... show more

I got these for my son’s room. He loves them. They’re pretty cool! Good stuff: We have textured walls. And in the past vinyl hasn’t stuck so I was worried these would fall right off. But they have been up for a month and no problems. It applies easy and held up. The lights are a good brightness. We got 50 ft and it fit All the way around the ceiling in his room. We have the remote which works and he really likes using the app on his phone to change the colors etc. I was worried it wouldn’t work but it does! Overall, I highly recommend these lights!!!! Room for improvement: In the spot where you plug the lights into the power box, they kept falling out. Like it doesn’t click in and stay. But I fixed that by taping the box to the wall (hidden) so the lights stay plugged in. No biggie for us. On the setting to go with the music, the lights blink super fast. I’d personally like it to be a little slower or more with the rhythm but my son doesn’t care. He’s happy with them. He enjoys showing them off to all his friends. Fun mood lighting. Just right for gaming lighting. No glare on the tv but enough light to see in the room. 4.5/5 stars from this mama! 👍 ... show more

Set these lights up no problem. They are bright and worked great. After a maximum of 8 hours total use the lights died on me. I was sitting in the room and they went dark, then started randomly flashing a dim orange color. I went to unplug them and the plug was very warm. Let it cool off and tried again...still nothing. I can not control the lights at all, this includes the remote, the app, and the small box near where the leds plug in. Everything was installed correctly and they were powered directly into a wall outlet. I’m very disappointed especially since the seller has not returned my emails asking for assistance. I was hoping at the very least they could send me a new control box/plug cables since the lights still obviously work...I just can’t control them. Very disappointed and I recommend buying from a different seller. UPDATE: They have finally responded to me and are sending a replacement product for free. Happy they responded and are willing to work with me. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First, I recommend that you buy TWO sets. Each one being a 50' set, will do about half of your average size room. I did. Now, these lights have so many different action patterns, colors and brightnesses, the remote looks like a keyboard. But, it's super easy to control. In my video, I'm demonstrating my FAVORITE function. The 'DISCO' function. The power supply has a built in microphone. It picks up the music and changes the lights in tempo with the beat. It also has some simple switch controls there, and the IR receiver. I recommend making sure that part is within clear line of sight, for the remote. The 3M adhesive is enough to hold the flat strip on a good clean smooth surface. But, the kit also includes little clips to hold it securely at corners, and an adhesive strip to hold the IR receiver and inline switch in place. I'm setting up a 'party room' in the garage, where we can have our friends over for some fun music, eats, drinks and maybe a little dancing. These Micomlan RGB LED lights are really going to set the mood. Good purchase. Five stars. ... show more

Loving the mobile app to change to colors and patterns. Still trying to figure out how to do custom colors. Very impressed on how bright the lights are and how low you can set them. Going to try to use them as year round holiday lighting outside. Will update once they are up and have been in use with them in the weather in the PNW. Very happy with them indoors. UPDATE: The power supply is not water proof due to the seam in it. Was using them outdoors under my eve for quite a while now and they finally went out. found it was the power supply. I used RTV Silicone to seal the seam around the power supply. Hopefully they will last much longer. Wish they sold just the power supply as I now have an extra kit and no PS. ... show more
