Probably the best fitting and easiest to install double din kit for the WJ. For starters the radio brackets had mounting holes that lined up with every single bolt hole on my pioneer radio, as well as they were tilted at just the right angle for fitment. The bezel itself has the correct tabs for installing the vents, which I just melted down with a flathead screwdriver and a lighter. Everything fit perfectly and went in first shot, and I've never installed a radio before. The other thing I like is how they add side clips to the bezel to make up for the clips you end up cutting out to make space for the double din unit. That is attention to detail

My friend put a double din stereo in his 2001 Grand Cherokee without a faceplate kit and it worked out well for him but I found this on Amazon and decided to try it for upgrading to a double din on my 2004 Grand Cherokee and it worked out great and came with pretty decent instructions. Thank goodness my friends were able to help me with the wiring and the modifications to the dash.

I got this faceplate to install a new head unit in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The instructions were decently clear, but they were not the clearest on the amount of modifications needed to the sub dash. To install the radio with this bracket, the sub dash had to be permanently modified such that the stock radio will not go back in the car ever again. Also, this bracket comes with little plastic tabs on the back of the holes for the air vents, these are supposed to be melted over the air vents. I used a dremel to separate the factory faceplate from the air vent assembly, and then used a blowtorch and a screwdriver to melt the tabs on this new bracket onto the air vent assembly, where the old plastic rivets were. If you do this, please use epoxy as well as melting those tabs, the clips on the back of the vent assembly are strong and when I tried to remove the bracket from the car, the vents broke off. You will definitely want to use a lot of epoxy to ensure the vents do not come unattached from this bracket. Overall though, this bracket looks factory. The texture and color match the car pretty well, and it looks good with a radio in it.

Wasn't aware of just how much I needed to cut out of the sub-dash! Other than that, the mount is great, and clips in nice. BUT I LOST A PANEL CLIP! Can't purchase *just* the panel clips anywhere online, and its kind of essential to clip the mount into place. Totally my fault, but I wish I could just buy another panel clip!

It fits, yeah you gotta cut some stuff out behind the factory bezel to make room for the 2 DIN radio but it's worth the effort. The finished product looks great and holds the radio securely, looks as close to a factory installed unit as you can get. Thanks Metra for a winning product!

Looks okay from a distance. However none of the factory clips at the top are retained. The faceplate only secures to the vehicle via the 2 existing clips from the factory vents out of the original four. This makes the upper part of the bezel above the radio very easy to push in. I wish they had added clips to the two guide pins that go into the radio mount adaptors. Would have made this feel more solid. As currently I can pull the faceplate off with my bare hands from the top, unlike the factory one that needs to be pried by the 4 factory clips.

Installing using this adapter requires some craftiness on the part of the installer, maybe some plastic welding or epoxy work depending on how things go. It's the only adapter I could find and the detail work is not because its not well made, it's just a challenging conversion. The finished installation looks great and works great, I'm glad they manufacture and offer this.

This kit works to add a double din to the Cherokee, but fit/finish is cheap and does not come with the harness needed. The radio sits back inside of the kit which makes it difficult to press buttons on the bottom edge of the radio. To get the radio out some so the buttons were easy to use, gaps were visible as the opening is tapered.
