The only downfall is you have to trim the dash for a double din to fit but that's to be expected on a older truck. Everything fit as should and quality is no different then another other one that I've installed out of about 50 dash kits that I've installed.

This is for a 96-01 ram that you want a double din radio in. Has a nice templet and ultimately is the only reason I did this. Amazing product and saves $100 instead of buying a brand new custom dash. Take your time, use a dremel and it will get the job done. Loos really good.

Used on 2000 Dodge Ram to install double din stereo. Used Dremel, took my sweet time making cuts. Ended up looking really nice. Would recommend if installing a double din radio. Don’t forget a wiring harness if replacing radio! Will make install faster and more professional looking.

I had read negative reviews on this kit pertaining to following the instructions and the radio not fitting. The instructions tell you to trim out the floor of the stock radio opening... this alone is not enough. Due to the flatter angle of the new radio mount (to clear the steel frame in the back), the top of the radio hits the top of the opening. The top of the opening also needs to be trimmed out. As you can see in the picture, the mounting bracket interferes with the top of the standard opening by 3/8”... the top of the radio is another 3/16” above that. So, with this additional trimming, this kit works... I’m satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

I have installed several double din stereos in single din dashes. This one is way way more difficult. I'm fortunate that I have a plethora of tools/ cutting/ experience than the average person. I didn't have to cut as much due to I installed a double din w/o a cd player, so it was only 3 or so inches deep. Their would've been so much more cut away otherwise... if you think you can install without cutting just hang that idea up, that's where I started. I gave the lower stars because I couldn't get the bezel to firmly attach. It would vibrate and or fall out. I ended up gorilla gluing it in place. End product was fine. ... show more

    • A "must have" if you want a double din stereo in a 2nd Gen Dodge Truck
Comes complete with a template of what needs to be cut on the face of the dash making it very easy. That said, the inner dash must also be cut which is not for the faint of heart. If you have any doubts as to your skill in this area, leave it to a pro.
