  • works, fits well

For 2005 Honda Pilot put in a new navi system (double DIN) to replace original stock system. This kit with the two side brackets and front trim piece worked great. You will also need a plug to mate up the plug from the car to the wires from your new system, also available on Amazon. The side brackets are plastic, original were metal, but they seem to work OK. Directions that are included are good but if you want more info and people's hand on experiences do a google search for something like Honda Pilot double din install and you will get linked to some very useful info. If you are putting in a navigation system as I did be very careful that your satellite receiver that mounts outside of the car has enough cord to get all the way to the head unit. Mine had something like 16 feet but the Pilot is a long SUV and by the time that wire winds all the way from the back on the roof to the head unit you use alot of that length. I had to change the routing to make it work. Other than that test fit your new unit before tightening up these brackets to the side of the unit since the way it sits in the Pilot dash is at kind of an angle and if you get that wrong the trim piece does not really cover the gaps around the new unit properly. ... show more

  • Very good fit for Honda Pilot

I only needed one of the plastic frames, as the Honda Pilots factory radio is LARGER than 2 DIN, so you will have a gap if you install a standard 2 DIN stereo. The frames help fill in the gap. For me the original mounting plate worked on my new unit.

  • perfect fit

100% needed on 03 pilot, top has a gap but everywhere else is tight. Locks in easily but is plastic but seems tough enough. Update: if you actually read the instructions and follow them, you'll get a perfect fit, I used the wrong brackets that were very similar.

  • Beware if you have a 7 inch after market Radio the trim may not fit.

Very good product but beware if you have a 7 inch after market Radio the trim around the radio may not fit. It did not fit the my 7 inch generic Android unit I had to use the trim that came with head unit and modified it.

  • I've been using Metra since the 90's, this kit is the worst garbage they have ever made
Style: Kit Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Like my title says....I've been using Metra since the 90's It was always Metra or schoshe and we all remember how well schosche was when compared. This kit is the biggest hunk of time wasting garbage they have ever made. For starters the holes on the mounting brackets are off in my opinion to square out the head unit hight. The kit comes with 4 brackets for mounting......both are the same. The EX trim plate simply won't fit.....you have to destroy it to make it work. This kit made an easy install a headache and me look like a moron who had never done it before. I will seriously hesitate before I buy another one of these products again. I an't believe they let the company go like that......garbage..... ... show more

  • It simply isn't needed
Style: Kit Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
If you are missing the radio and mounting plates in your Honda Pilot, this kit will do the job of installing it. However, my review is low because the product description implied that you WILL need this for a aftermarket radio install. I can tell you 100% you DO NOT need this kit if you have retained the factory mounting plates in your Honda Pilot, those plates will mount to your new stereo and you will not need this aftermarket mounting kit. I wasted money on this junk that I didn't need to. Also, note that if you get one of those really small multimedia head units without a CD player, this kit might not work for you because of the limited # of mounting screws in the head unit. I purchased one cheap Chinese radio that only had two screw holes for mounting and this kit didn't work with it. I returned that crappy unit and bought a Jensen. Although this kit would have worked to install the Jensen, I didn't need it because I had the factory retaining mounts. ... show more
