  • Very good fit for Honda Pilot
Style: Kit Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I only needed one of the plastic frames, as the Honda Pilots factory radio is LARGER than 2 DIN, so you will have a gap if you install a standard 2 DIN stereo. The frames help fill in the gap. For me the original mounting plate worked on my new unit.

  • works, fits well
Style: Kit Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
For 2005 Honda Pilot put in a new navi system (double DIN) to replace original stock system. This kit with the two side brackets and front trim piece worked great. You will also need a plug to mate up the plug from the car to the wires from your new system, also available on Amazon. The side brackets are plastic, original were metal, but they seem to work OK. Directions that are included are good but if you want more info and people's hand on experiences do a google search for something like Honda Pilot double din install and you will get linked to some very useful info. If you are putting in a navigation system as I did be very careful that your satellite receiver that mounts outside of the car has enough cord to get all the way to the head unit. Mine had something like 16 feet but the Pilot is a long SUV and by the time that wire winds all the way from the back on the roof to the head unit you use alot of that length. I had to change the routing to make it work. Other than that test fit your new unit before tightening up these brackets to the side of the unit since the way it sits in the Pilot dash is at kind of an angle and if you get that wrong the trim piece does not really cover the gaps around the new unit properly. ... show more

  • perfect fit
Style: Kit Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
100% needed on 03 pilot, top has a gap but everywhere else is tight. Locks in easily but is plastic but seems tough enough. Update: if you actually read the instructions and follow them, you'll get a perfect fit, I used the wrong brackets that were very similar.

  • Not all Pilots are created equal
Style: Kit Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Well, I guess not all Pilots are created equal. This kit does not fit my 2007 EX. I used the correct EX bezel (thicker sides) but the brackets position the radio about 1/2" too high in the factory trim opening. I didn't read the reviews before ordering, but now see many installers are having this problem. Since the front bezel snaps into the side brackets, forming a three sided box, there is little room for bracket/radio placement modification. You can (as some have done) add shims (washers) between the top bracket hole and the chassis, but that tilts the radio down and out of plane with the factory trim. The old factory brackets would probably work but the front bezel would have no mounting surface (except gluing it to the radio). Some reviews say that if this kit doesn't fit your Pilot the Scosche HA1703B kit will fit (and visa verse), I'm ordering it now and we'll see. ... show more

  • It simply isn't needed
Style: Kit Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
If you are missing the radio and mounting plates in your Honda Pilot, this kit will do the job of installing it. However, my review is low because the product description implied that you WILL need this for a aftermarket radio install. I can tell you 100% you DO NOT need this kit if you have retained the factory mounting plates in your Honda Pilot, those plates will mount to your new stereo and you will not need this aftermarket mounting kit. I wasted money on this junk that I didn't need to. Also, note that if you get one of those really small multimedia head units without a CD player, this kit might not work for you because of the limited # of mounting screws in the head unit. I purchased one cheap Chinese radio that only had two screw holes for mounting and this kit didn't work with it. I returned that crappy unit and bought a Jensen. Although this kit would have worked to install the Jensen, I didn't need it because I had the factory retaining mounts. ... show more
