  • Good camera quality, easy setup, solar charging and wireless works great.
tl;dr: Great 2-camera, wireless solar solution. Setup was as easy as advertised. Touch screen is great, and plenty bright. Main-screen menu was thoughtfully designed with the most critical items visible at a touch (record, brightness, parking alignment lines, home menu, switch cameras, and power button). Screen also has physical buttons on the back that can be used without the touchscreen. Easy to change cameras. Recording is easy. Playback is easy. I'm using only the magnetic bases for camera mounting, so I learned the hard way that my pickup has fiberglass body components: the hood and the bed exterior walls. Only two minor complaints about the cameras: 1) the solar panel is captive to the camera housing, so you can't adjust the solar angle independently of the camera angle, and 2) the degrees of camera rotation are limited, so the design seems to be made for looking slightly down from perfectly vertical or horizontal mounting surfaces. That's an issue with curved vehicle bodies, as it's hard to find a flat surface for best magnet adhesion, and it's also an issue when you want to point it at anything that isn't straight back or lower. In my case, these aren't big issues, but I can see it becoming a problem for others. Only two interface languages available are English and Chinese. You can adjust the angle, width, and height of the parking lines. You can adjust brightness, contrast, and hue. You can adjust auto-off timer (30, 60, or 90 seconds). One thing I had to write tech support about: I couldn't figure out how to power-reset the camera. To clarify: The red LED is the power LED; when it's on, the camera is on, and when it's off, the power's off, and all it takes is a single button press to do either. The blue lights will be flashing whenever the camera's being recharged, either by solar or USB, and are no indication about whether the camera's powered on. My setup: One on tailgate as a backup camera, one on roof as a pickup load monitor. Tip: I positioned the tailgate camera so that when the tailgate is open (and horizontal), the camera is pointing straight down at the hitch, making it simple to back up to a trailer and align perfectly while alone. Saves a ton of time. Also, I ordered smaller "bullet"-type antennas to get a lower profile. I haven't tried them out yet. If you try alternate antennas for the cameras, be sure they're male SMA with pin in the middle. FOLLOW-UP EDIT: The two bullet antennas are much lower profile, don't flop around, and give a plenty strong signal (photo added). ... show more

  • Works kinda-sorta when it wants to
I mounted one camera on the tailgate of my pickup truck pointing down toward the trailer hitch ball. I mounted the second one on the rear of my 20' travel trailer using a steel plate affixed to the aluminum shell of the trailer. I mounted the monitor on my dash of my long-bed, crew cab, Dodge RAM 2500 diesel 4x4 and power it via a USB charger. The camera on the tailgate shows an image on the in-cab monitor for about 15-20 seconds and then goes black. You have to touch the screen to make the image return. This is really a lot of fun when you are trying to accurately back up to the trailer hitch and have to fumble with the screen constantly. The one on the rear of the travel trailer stopped working at all. I tested it when it was first installed and it worked exactly once before I left on a long RV trip. Both cameras get many hours of sunlight per day on their solar cells, so I don't think this is a power problem. I gave up on this thing and bought a set of walkie talkies so that someone can spot for me. Avoid this thing! ... show more

  • Just buy it.
Amazing! Easy to set up and use. I emailed to get the plates to mount on my aluminum trailer and they sent them super fast and for free. Has great signal and love that there is the split screen that you can easy flip to use one camera to back up to and one to have eyes on what’s going on inside the trailer. ... show more

  • Reception is trash
The picture is clear, and it's great when the camera is on top of my truck. But we have an 18 foot RV trailer, and when it's on the back of it, the signal freezes and outright dies sometimes. So it's pretty much useless as am RV cam, which is what it's marketed as. Amd what are the exterior walls of most every RV trailer? Aluminum. Yet you have to write in for a steel plate. Our camping trip was in three days, so the "8-10 business days" didn't work for us. I bought a steel plate from Home Depot, painted it black and used that. So why aren't the steel plates included? So an antenna extension cable and steel plate - and a boatload of work - later, and I finally got it working. ... show more

  • So far they work great.
It does operate as advertised. Very easy to install. I did need the steel plates on my rig to mount the camera. They seem to have very strong magnet on them. The picture quality is very good. I used these on a couple trips, oddly the closer camera lost connection once, so I rebooted the on dash receiver and that fixed it. I have no other glitches, they just work. My 5th wheel is 36 feet long and one is at the very top back end of the trailer. What turned out be an unexpected bonus was the display fits perfectly in the storage tray on top of Ram 3500's dash, and Ram put a power port in the tray also. Kinda to good to true, but it works for me. ... show more

  • A really great unit with one big fatal flaw.
Very disappointed. I bought this unit because the pictures show that it does not distort the image by compressing the full horizontal image to 1/2 its width while in split screen mode. I got it for my 50+ foot boat. I can not see the back of the boat while driving it without running like a maniac to the back and then running back to the steering station to make adjustments on the controls. The image on the screen was quite good in single camera mode. Nice and sharp and the brightness ran at around 1/2 the range in bright daylight. For me it would have been perfect. It has solar chargers on the cameras and a generous 15000 mAh battery for each camera. Magnetic mounts meant I didn't have to do a permanent wiring and hard mount. I just can't understand why a company would misrepresent their product by showing the pictures that a buyer depends on that have been doctored to show a normal view for a definitely handicapped product. They must know a buyer that it means something to will just return it. Someone who it makes no difference to could be satisfied that they got what they bargained for. It is a great product with one fatal flaw that they try to hide with "photoshopped" images to sell it. ... show more
