Tool is solid, but the insert chips rather easily. With the acute angle of the insert and not a lot of support, it's more prone to chipping. For the price, it did the job I needed done.

I just did a test on some mystery steel. It seemed to work OK. The top of the inserts is nearly flat, very little chip breaker, but they did cut OK. Finish was OK, not great at a medium feed rate, 650rpm, .020DOC, one inch diameter steel bar. 1440 lathe. Hobby use.

Was looking forward to receiving this set. The advertisement shows 7 holders with bits plus 7 additional bits. But that is not what you receive. 7 bit holder and 7 bits. And like another buyer mentioned. one of the holders was the wrong shank size, being 5/8" instead of 1/2' Won't fit my AXA QCTP. Sent it back. ... show more
