After testing it out, I started a methodical search in an expanded area. Found the missing piece in about 15 seconds. It was an accident that I started right by where it was. Incidentally, I messed around a while with the detector in the yard and managed to trace the TV cable and a phone cable. It works pretty good. So far I found 3 quarters 1 dime a nickel and a handful of pennies. Its pretty accurate. Not the best but not that bad
