The Metabo w24-230 mvt 9 in. Pro Series angle Grinder features Metabo 15 amp, 2400 Watt motor with auto-stop carbon brushes to protect the motor. The rear handle can be turned in either direction through 90° without the use of any tools, ideal for jobs with Cut-Off wheels and also for left-handed users. This is the first grinder I've ever owned, and the first concrete project I've ever done. I selected it to grind 700 sq/ft of concrete floor clean to prep for a professional floor coating. It was well reviewed here, and there are several good utube vids of old farmers tearing down different brands of grinders to show you the parts and what they think if it. Also, the Metabo supposedly has less vibration and is easier/more comfortable to use. After grinding 700 sq/ft of filthy 25 year old concrete ( a total of 7 hours) I have the following observations. The grinder pulls a lot of power, it ran best on a 120 volt 20 amp circuit, and nothing else could be plugged into the same circuit without popping it. It is heavy, this is good as it helps you put pressure on it to grind the floor. The trigger is a little fussy to use but easily locks in place, so you don't have to hold it on the whole time. I used a diamond turbocup from E Diamond tools, the worked well, 700 sq/feet used about a 1/3 of it. It is a challenge to get the turbo cup off, especially with the shroud attached. Ooo the Shroud..., the one that came with it didn't fit. It was like it had be mashed in the box for 6 months in one position, then wouldn't flatten out. Concrete grinding puts out an appalling amount of dust, which you should not breathe, you need a quality dust mask, hearing protection, and a vaccuum that hooks directly to the shroud. Anyway amazon replaced the crooked shroud with a new one, which hadn't been mashed and it worked acceptably. It is difficult to adjust so that the dust created goes up the vacuum, not in your face. It is challenging to get the shroud on the grinder, and very difficult to get the turbo cup off with the shroud attached, which you will eventually have to do unless you want to throw it out when your done, which at $350 you don't want to do. A call to Metabo customer service quickly got me a native English speaker who knew a lot about grinders, but couldn't help me. Overall, the grinder is excellent, powerful and smooth. The shroud wasn't great and a good vacuum and mask are essentials. It isn't cheap to do this yourself, but it was 1/3 the cost of hiring a pro to do it.

I have hundreds of hours on this specific grinder. It’s great for spot/room grinding. Plenty of power/torque to cut through soft mortar quickly and hard concrete is quite easy to smooth as well.

Alright, I want to share my experience with the Metabo Grinder. I work with hardwood floor installation, and after struggling with cheap brands due to their short lifespan, I decided to invest in a much more expensive product, assuming it would be of better quality. That’s when I got disappointed. After only 10 months of use, the tool started having issues. I contacted the manufacturer, and they quickly provided me with a list of authorized service centers. That’s when the problems really began. I chose Buildings Pro Supply as the authorized repair shop and went to their store. They told me they needed three days to diagnose the problem. I waited ten days, and then they called me, saying the issue was with the motor connection function (I don’t even know what that means) and that the repair would cost $250. I explained that the tool was still under warranty, but they told me that this specific issue was not covered. So, I told them to return my tool because I wasn’t going to pay for a repair that should have been covered. And that’s when things got even worse: it took them another ten days to return it, meaning they kept my tool for over twenty days. When I finally went to pick up my grinder, they handed it to me completely disassembled inside a red box, with missing parts—parts that they broke when taking it apart! When I questioned why they were returning it like that, their response was absurd: since I refused to pay for the repair, they didn’t bother putting it back together because they wouldn’t get paid for it. So, I gave them a fully assembled tool, and they returned it as a pile of loose parts, with some even missing. This is a complete lack of respect for the customer! Well, that was my experience. If you’re looking for a high-quality product, do not buy from this brand!

Does not come with blades but does come with the vacuum shroud in the photo. The shroud is super hard to get on. I had to use oil around the rim and put my whole body weight (215lbs.) into it to pop it on. It works fantastically when combined with a Ridgid vacuum that can fit a Ridgid hepa filter and hepa bag internally. I had trouble finding a blade to fit it. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY YELLOW DEWALT CUP BLADE. They are too thin height-wise. I finally found one that fits and listed the link below. With that blade, it has a brass ring that you pop out of the middle of the blade and then use the 7/8" arbor kit that is sent with grinder. Very powerful. Did a good job collecting dust. The only negative I can comment on is that Metabo needs to send more and the appropriate shims for that application of grinder setup. I had to go to the local hardware store and adjust the grinder wheel to 1/16 of a inch below the suction hood. Not a big deal. I have been using Metabo for over 12 years now and they are top of the line grinders

I'm grinding concrete and it does the job with the right coupler wheel ( red s style) is the one I've been using. But to remove the wheel is my issue cause it's really hard and is easiest with 2 people which isn't convenient
