Was given this as a gift for Christmas and am so, so happy with them! They are beautiful and the blades really are such a great quality! Easy to sharpen(though they come sharp enough to cut you if you even look at them!). The only complaint for me would be that the magnetic storage block that these come in, had a pretty big counter-space footprint. I ended up getting rid of the block and just storing my knives elsewhere. However, that issue does nothing to take away how much I love these! So, so happy with my new knives!

I loved these because of the beautiful magnetic butcher block. It has the mid-century-modern vibe. Luckily, they are also great knives. Very sharp! We are very happy with the ease of cutting and chopping. A nice upgrade for us. I love that the company is woman owned as well. Thanks ladies!

The Messermeister Avanta knife set is visually appealing and functionally impressive. The knives are sleek, well-weighted, razor-sharp, and comfortable in hand. To round out the set, I added the boning and bread knives and a Hoshanho fillet knife. The knife block is crafted from solid wood and features strong magnetic strips. However, upon unboxing, I noticed sections of the magnetic strips weren’t fully adhered. I pressed them back into place, and they’ve held so far, but it’s something I’ll need to monitor. While photographing the set, I also discovered a vertical crack in the block. Subtle, but enough to raise concerns about long-term durability. I contacted Amazon for a replacement. Where the first block had one crack, the second arrived with two. It felt like a tragic sequel: “Crack II: The Splintering.” Amazon’s customer service was swift, gracious, and resolved the issue without requiring a return. I sincerely appreciate that. Ultimately, I chose to keep the original block and restore it myself - furniture marker, gentle wipe, satin poly finish. It worked like a charm. The knives themselves are excellent, but the block’s quality control is disappointing.

Since this kit cost equally as much as buying all the knives separately, you essentially get the block for free. But the block is awkwardly angled and uses magnets to hold the knives. So, not only does it occupy a large amount of space, but if you slide the knives across the magnets, they can get scratched. So, I've discarded the block and went with a nice neat drawer organizer to hold these amazing knives. Very happy with the knives themselves though.
