It took my husband about 3 1/2 hours to put this all together, but he is extremely handy. I think it would normally take twice the amount of time in comparison to other reviews here. A few of the parts were mislabeled, which slowed down the process of getting everything together, things had to be taken apart and switched because of the mislabeling. Other than that the product is great - quality is very sound, feels sturdy. I highly recommend using a drill for this project the L-shaped tool they provide is very small and I don’t think it would work productively to put this together. Not clear for the instructions!!!! This is very hard. Cheap material like no other!! Worse then IKEA, looks bad and not good quality. For the price I paid it should have come with way way better quality bed!! And easier way to build it!!!!

The bed does what it needs to do. My husband put it together in about 8 hours by himself. I read other reviews and took a chance. Read the instructions carefully... not everything is labeled so easily. Organize your pieces and be assured you need a whole working day to put together! I can see how others built frustration. But if you follow the instructions carefully it's not a bad bed. There are gaps, it does look a little cheap, the wood split -once. But the bed will serve it's purpose for a few years before the kids out grow it. If you have the money I would recommend save your self the headache and buy a better quality bed- you won't be regret it. But if your going to buy this bed- be patient with the instructions. It will come in 3 boxes and you don't know where the instructions will be so start organizing from the beginning. I feel safe with my kids sleeping on it! they love it!     • Love the idea but could be stronger
Instructions are small limited detailed pictures but manageable. A few pieces came cracked and tried to replace but never got a return call. Only provided a hex wench to manually tighten all screws/bolts. I cut wrench to use with drill. And then ended up buying same size Phillips head screws to use instead and worked so much better. The ladder doesn’t touch the ground. So in just 2 months the top part has cracked and is pulling away from the bed itself. Love the steps with cubbies idea. Seem sturdy. Overall is doesn’t feel as well made as we would like but our kids are young so we are okay with it. We are going to have to figure out how to replace the ladder which is a bummer. The beds themselves were relatively easy to assemble for a diy homeowner. The staircase has an equal amount of pieces as both beds and more complexity, not sure I would go with that option again. Kit was missing screws and dowels that I had to buy locally. Had to drill, cut and shave parts as well as scrape overpainted areas in joints. It took about 20 manhours to assemble in total. I did most of it myself but two people would definitely help. Buy an allen key driver bit and save a ton of time. It seems sturdy now that complete and my kids are excited, it won't be an heirloom but should last their childhood. Price is good for what you get in comparison to similar systems from furniture stores. ... show more

Ordered almost a year ago. Have already had to fortify the lower bed, rebuild one of.the ladder steps, and about to rebuild the steps/shelving. I may have gotten what I payed for with this set. I think I would like it better had they used a better quality wood.

I bought this for my daughters 8th birthday. I do have one con about this bed before I even get started with the pros. The instructions weren’t really all that clear. Took my fiancé and I a few hours to actually put the bed fully together. Not all of the parts were labeled either. It definitely takes some brain power to figure it out. But other than that the bed is sturdy. It holds up to 200 pounds. My daughter loves the bed. Has a nice color to it. ... show more
